**Position Summary**

**Responsibilities**
- Under mínimal direction of the Chair, and in conjunction with the current Field Placement Officer, the position is responsible for the following functions:

- Develops and implements a comprehensive field placement marketing and communication plan with team members to foster partnerships with employers, faculty and students. The plan incorporates strategies, activities, timelines and measurement of all development activities such as: identify/develop field placement opportunities through marketing to employers and managing the ongoing relationships with external field placement providers through networking, on-site visits, attending industry functions, telephone solicitation and following up on supplied leads/referrals
- Works with academic faculty to respond to any issues which may arise related to field placement and assures their resolution
- Recommends improvements and monitors the quality of field placements by providing feedback to internal and external stakeholders regarding the quality of training and direction during the placement and the workplace readiness of students
- Provides exceptional service and support to industry partners while building and maintain strong mutually beneficial relationships.
- Provides service and support to employers, and ensures compliance with Workplace Safety and Insurance and Board (“WSIB”), Ministry of Advanced Education and Skills Development, the Law Society of Ontario (“LSO”), the Institute of Law Clerks of Ontario (“ILCO”) and the Immigration, Refugee and Citizenship Canada (“IRCC”), and any health and safety requirements of placement hosts in the medical industry.
- Assists with the coordination of industry partnerships events such as: job fairs; assist The Business School recruitment efforts during information or discovery events; develop, plan and initiate new industry events; participate, attend and remain an active member of industry related committees, associations and other related groups

**Qualifications/Experience**
- Three year diploma/degree in Business Administration or Marketing or equivalent combination of education and experience. 4 year degree or Masters in Business preferred.
- A minimum of 5 years’ experience in employee/student placement activities and/or related field such as sales, marketing or job development experience in order to identify and develop field placement opportunities
- Employment/placement preparation experience (i.e. resume critique, interview preparation, job search strategies)
- Preference given for in-depth knowledge of Legal, Administrative and/or Health industries gained from working in those industries.
- Experience working in a post-secondary environment is preferred.
- Proven ability to manage a large case load while balancing other duties with deadlines and conflicting priorities, with mínimal supervision
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to prioritize events, students, industry partners and faculty.
- Experience, knowledge and understanding of working effectively in a diverse environment.
- Proven flexibility, cooperation and willingness to share ideas and information to enhance team building with others.
- Proficient in MS Office (i.e. Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
- Evidence of strong written and verbal communication skills
