The Manager of Security Operations, Dispatch Centre, and Screening/Access Control is to manage the day to day security, screening, and dispatch operations, including investigations, threat/vulnerability assessments, interviewing for security positions, training/development, for multiple site hospitals. Responsible to identify priorities of response by gathering, assessing and disseminating statistical information. Assigned liaison for external agencies such as (Police and Corrections). The role is responsible for oversight of contract staff identification; access control and CCTV systems. This role has additional/similar responsibilities at Providence Care as outlined in the Providence Care/KHSC agreement.

The Manager is accountable for contributing to the delivery of the Kingston Health Science Centre strategy. As an employee, one must demonstrate an awareness of and be responsible for actively promoting and supporting patient and family centered engagement and care in all we do.

**PRINCIPLE DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES**:

- Operation of Security Operations Center
- Security System (CCTV, Access Control-Screening, Photo ID)
- Investigations (workplace violence, thefts, safety plans)
- Liaison (Police, Corrections, Planning Office)

**QUALIFICATIONS**:

- Minimum Post-Secondary 4 year University Degree in a related field.
- Post-Secondary 4 year University Degree in Security or police management preferred.
- Minimum 3-5 years in a hospital security management position, must have an above average practical knowledge of the Criminal Code, Mental Health Act, Investigators & Security Guards Act, and Occupiers Liability Act. Need to demonstrate interoperability knowledge between security infection control and occupational health & safety as it relates to screening and access control.
- 5-7 years in a hospital security management position. Must have an above average practical knowledge of the Criminal Code, Mental Health Act, Investigators & Security Guards Act, and Occupiers Liability Act.
- Minimum - Member of the International Association Healthcare Safety & Security; hold an active security guards license. Hold or has held certification in an approved security training train the trainer program.
- Same as above plus certified as an investigator or crime prevention specialist. Has an up to date certification in Security Guard Training preferred.
