The Coordinator, Student Success in the Faculty of Science is responsible for the planning, development, and operationalization of the Science Student Space and accompanying student advising and retention services. The Coordinator leads the development and implementation of undergraduate academic and retention advising, programming, events, and student support services and the development of operational and tactical improvements, including overseeing the implementation of a CRM, standardized advising policy and procedures, and standardization of advisor training and support across the Faculty of Science. Supporting the supervisor, the Coordinator leads the development and assessment of retention tactics/strategies, including academic support programming initiatives, retention support services and initiatives such as the identification, support, and processes of at-risk students. Participates in the development of recruitment tactics/strategies in collaboration with the supervisor, Student Recruiter, Coordinator, Student Engagement, and other members of the Dean of Science office.
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Science, or other relevant discipline, and two years of related experience in management, academic advising, programming, admissions and student recruitment, or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.
- Excellent knowledge of enrollment management, retention, student success, and academic advising theories, best practices and strategies.
- Excellent knowledge of University policies and regulations related to student admission, academic programming, and services.
- Good knowledge of program design principles including assessment strategies.
- Excellent supervisory, teamwork, interpersonal, organizational, and conflict resolution skills.
- Excellent presentation, communication and intercultural communication skills (verbal, written, and presentation).
- Excellent analytical skills and ability to research, synthesize, and analyze metrics.
- Ability to lead multiple team projects and events.
- Ability to identify opportunities to form partnerships in the higher education community and to establish networks.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment, and exercise mature judgment and a high level of diplomacy and discretion.
