Greater Sudbury, Canada Mammoth Equipment & Exhausts Full time

We are looking for a Field Technician to join our team and provide technical support in the field. This position requires mechanical aptitude and a passion for fabrication and mechanical repairs to install thermal blankets onto engine exhaust and/or mechanical systems in order to control heat loss or gain and for noise control and fire protection, while being responsible for the following:

- Project work
- Installation and commissioning of new equipment and machinery.

**Duties and Responsibilities**
- Remove or seal off old insulation, following safety procedures & protocols
- Install thermal blankets (or lagging) onto engine exhaust systems of heavy, earthmoving and/or industrial equipment
- Fit insulation in accordance with installation drawings and procedures
- Ability to measure and physically draw exhaust systems and components
- Working with and being able to competently use hand tools
- Able to identify issues and make decisions for the best benefit of the company and customer when working alone or in remote areas
- Climb on mining equipment to carry out auditing
- Must be flexible and able for physical movement (crouching / bending / leaning) to carry out inspections across mobile plant and equipment
- Ascend / descend mining equipment, using including but not limited to vertical ladders or walkways
- Access tight confinements EG: Bull Dozer ‘Hellhole’ cavities. Can be required up to 30 mins at a time in this location
- Inspect intricate engine parts / systems requires physical body mobility including bending, kneeling, crawling under, using difficult body positions with 3 points of contact
- Execute comprehensive Fire Mitigation Inspection audits;
- Perform Fire Mitigation Inspections as per Mammoth SangR checklist system on mobile device (iOS), using markers and camera to record information
- Project based work - travel mandatory

**Other tasks required from the role**:

- Installation and commissioning of new equipment and machinery.

- Work safely alongside team members in workshop environment as well as on mining sites or in customers workshops, ensuring all team members safety as well as his own.

- Liaise with customer representative at point of operation to ensure effective delivery of product
- Ensure equipment maintained, clean and in good working order
- Meet delivery expectations as per customer delivery requirements
- May be required to perform other duties (e.g. forklift driving; warehousing; Ecoblue manufacturing;
- Filling of bulk containers; general maintenance & repairs; general labour & assisting other workers in the factory; general housekeeping)
- Manage working hours and wellbeing in accordance with company and regulatory requirements
- Comply with all applicable regulations

**Required Experience and Skills**
- Adhering to all health and safety regulations
- Mechanical Trade qualifications
- Ability to read and interpret schematic drawings
- 5+ years in an industrial/mining/equivalent environment desirable
- Mechanical aptitude and/or worked with heavy/industrial or like equipment
- Observe company and customer policies, procedures, regulations and OH&S requirements at all times
- Cleaning up after each work process and maintaining clean work area
- Ability to work weekends and public holidays where required
- Completing timesheets accurately and submitting in a timely manner
- Inducted for Peabody, BHP, BMC and Glencore mine sites (Any) an advantage

**Job Types**: Full-time, Permanent

**Salary**: $65,000.00-$75,000.00 per year
