**Position purpose**:
Reporting to the infrastructure manager for electrical systems, manages maintenance contracts for building emergency systems, such as fire alarms and emergency generators. Supports and guides teams in maintenance work, and performs various related to the electrical section. Helps the manager in planning, coordinating, and performing work. Ensures that installations under the responsibility of the electrical section are maintained, run properly, and remain reliable at all times.

**In this role, your responsibilities will include**:
Manages contracts for the inspection and maintenance of various emergency systems for which the electrical section is responsible to ensure that these systems remain operational and comply with legal and contractual requirements.

In partnership with building representatives and contractors, plans, organizes, and coordinates inspection sequences, maintenance work, and service interruptions, while taking ongoing activities into account in order to minimize the impact on users.

Ensures that contractors submit inspection reports within prescribed deadlines and that these reports are adequately preserved, and takes measures to ensure that issues identified during inspections are diligently corrected so that systems remain compliant.

Prepares cost estimates for required work, or asks contractors for estimates, and generates the required procurement requests.

Assists in drawing up the technical specifications needed to hire external contractors.

Performs assigned tasks according to the work plan, relying on own experience and skills to complete them safely and effectively.

Ensures that inspections and work are performed safely, effectively, and according to established procedures, protocols, and standards. Follows up on work and ensures that it was properly performed.

As required, provides technical assistance to the section’s planner, supervisor, and employees in order to assist in planning, coordinating, and performing the work.

Provides information and explains the techniques used in restoring and maintaining equipment, and ensures that technical information is available and correct.

Helps establish the equipment maintenance program and keep it updated; helps identify opportunities for improvement and participates in their implementation.

Assists in representing the section within project teams.

Promotes reliability, participates in technical decisions and evaluates their impact, and assists in setting annual budget requirements.

Assists in obtaining the required authorizations and missing resources.

**What you will bring**:
College diploma in electricity, electrical technology, or in any other relevant field.

Ontario electrician trade certification and fire alarm panel certification (CFAA)

Five years’ relevant work experience

Ability to influence, manage conflicts, and ensure that various stakeholders and project teams acknowledge and accept the incumbent’s electrical expertise.

Self-reliance, motivation, and ability to manage multiple priorities simultaneously

Experience in using Microsoft Office suite products; experience in using maintenance mana
