The Ki-Low-Na Friendship Society is a non-profit organization that provides community-based services for the mental, emotional, physical, and spiritual well-being of all peoples. We are Indigenous focused, and encourage the preservation, sharing, and promotion of all nations.
We are excited to be opening our newly built Skemxist sncecmitln daycare, which is located in Black Mountain, and we need a dynamic manager to lead our daycare team and encourage and develop Indigenous Curriculum at all levels. Through your mentorship, you will encourage staff to create holistic and quality programming that empowers each individual child to develop a sense of self and connection to Indigenous culture and community.
You are an experienced daycare manager, preferably with knowledge of the Aboriginal Head Start program. You have a degree in Education, Social Work, Youth & Childcare with a leadership component, and an Early Child Development certificate. **Manager**
**Hours of Work**
- Centre open 7:30-5:30
- Hour of Shift 8 hours
- Evening hours may be required occasionally.
- Holiday Eligibility: 3 weeks, increases as per KFS policy
- Statutory Holidays
- Sick Days 12 per year (may require Dr. note)
- Other days off as per KFS policy
**Financial Compensation**
The Manager will receive a salary based on experience and education. The rate of pay starts at a rate of $35 per hour for 40-hour week. The salary range is 72,800 to 87,360. If manager is employed 505 of more hours working directly on the floor and has the correct education, they may be entitled to the government enhancement stipend (this is not included in salary and is only paid when government makes it available)

**Supervises**:
- Daycare staff: Infant Toddler workers, Early childhood educators, Assistant Educators, responsible adults (working in 3 daycare rooms)
- Aboriginal Infant Development workers (AIDP)
- Aboriginal Supported Child Development Workers (ASCD)
- Cap-C workers
- Preschool Staff
- After School Care Staff
- Ancillary staff: cook, bus driver, janitor, etc.
- Centre Volunteers
- Practicum students
- Program staff as new programs are created at the Centre
- Additional staff as designated by Executive Director or Operations Manager
**Qualifications**
- Degree in Education, Social Work, Youth & Child Care (with leadership component) preferred
- Early Child Development (Certificate), Early child Educator
- Courses related to ECE leadership
- Minimum 3 years’ management experience
- First Aid Certificate (Child Safe)
- Criminal Record check (renew 5 year intervals0

**Scope of Position**
- keep current of all health and/or social issues, trends, research and practice impacting children and their families;
- participate and encourage team members to maintain relevant professional affiliations and training;
- coordinate and maintain the programs though proactive planning, and staff mentoring and support;
- ensure effective communication and share important information and/or concerns of the program in a timely manner with the Executive Director and staff as appropriate.
- oversee the coordination of integrated case management meetings for children collaborating with KFS staff and outside agencies, always including parents/guardians in decision
- coordinate and facilitate monthly staff meetings within the facility
- create and maintain good public relations within KFS and community;
- work collaboratively with all existing KFS programs;
- demonstrate the willingness and ability to work in other KFS Early Years programs when required.

- adhere to all policies and procedures as outlined in the Ki-Low-Na Friendship Society Policy and Procedure Manual.
