**Position Overview**
Reporting to the Protective Services Manager, the Fire Chief (Moberly Lake Fire Department) will lead a group of dedicated volunteer firefighters serving the communities of Moberly Lake, West Moberly First Nations and Saulteau First Nations.

The Fire Chief will oversee administration, training, fire suppression and fire prevention activities, ensuring compliance with local, provincial and federal fire regulations. The Fire Chief will support fire safety and emergency preparedness public educational programs in the rural areas of the PRRD.

This position is required to be on-call and will be required to work long hours during emergency situations. Evening meetings, open houses and training are regular features of this role. This position is a term position ending December 31, 2023, with the possibility of extension.

**Qualifications**
- Minimum 5 years experience as a Fire Captain working with volunteer fire fighters, First Nations and local government (Fire Chief experience preferred)
- NFPA training and certification, ICS 300, Emergency Scene Management
- A valid B.C. Driver’s License and a satisfactory Criminal Record Check.

An equivalent combination of education, training and experience may be considered.

**Additional Information**
The hours of work are Monday to Friday, from 8:30 am - 4:30 pm, with one hour for lunch.
