Joining a team of experienced Workers Compensation Case Managers, you will contribute to a dynamic team that not only files and maintains occupational injury claims, but also collaborates with Canada's best employers to provide a safer work environment.

By their nature, workers’ compensation claims often have complicating factors that require further investigation or represent significant legal, financial, and health and safety implications. Our team of preventionists, case managers, appeal specialists, paralegals, lawyers, actuaries, and financial experts provide proactive, strategic guidance in all areas of employee health, safety and wellbeing to help our clients achieve the best outcomes in mitigating risk, maximizing savings, relieving administrative burden, and empowering employees.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

- Ensure the overall management of complex occupational injury cases for clients in a matrix team environment;
- Guide clients through the process of continuous improvement aimed at reducing the impact of occupational injuries on their organizational and financial performance;
- Advise clients on how to maintain the employment relationship and accompany them during workplace visits that are part of the rehabilitation process;
- Collaborate with stakeholders to develop strategies for effectively managing disputes
- Help expand the services offered to clients by proposing solutions to improve OHS management practices and performance (training sessions, medical assessments, prevention, legal services, outsourcing, ergonomics, etc.).
- Participate in special projects
- Participate in the integration, training and mentoring of junior staff
- Develop tools to support team members in their daily work

SKILLS:

- Completed post-secondary education in Human Resources, Industrial Relations, Business Administration, Law or a related field is required
- More than 8 years experience in the management of occupational injuries
- Excellent knowledge of workplace injury compensation legislation, regulations and policies;
- Expertise of the Tribunal dispute management process, including mediation
- Expertise of the rehabilitation and return to work process;
- Excellent communication skills
- Strong organizational skills combined with the ability to effectively manage competing priorities in a fast paced, and deadline driven environment
- Proven problem solving skills, and a demonstrated ability to be solutions-oriented
- Strong analytical skills combined with the ability to synthesize detailed information
- Ability to be team player who values collaboration, as well as work autonomously and independently as needed
- Strong computer skills including full proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and exposure to Microsoft Teams, knowledge of SharePoint is an asset
