This position is responsible for supervising participants as part of the WorkBC Job Creation Partnership (JCP) Program and is funded by the Government of Canada and the Province of BC.

We are a non-profit organization that aims to create advantageous opportunities by uniting people of diverse backgrounds and cultures through the power of art. We achieve this by hosting art programs and events all year long for artists, galleries, and the public to connect and inspire others. We are looking for a team player and leader to join our team in supporting the participants (7 team members) plan our annual Art Vancouver show.

What You’ll Do

This is an exciting opportunity to enhance Art Vancouver and development initiatives at the Vancouver Visual Art Foundation (VVAF). Reporting directly to the Director of Marketing and Events, the Supervisor is responsible for leading, supporting, and supervising the JCP Participants on their tasks and responsibilities as well as completing the monthly reports from the project which have financial and written formats. This includes providing a smooth operation and growth support to the participants that is in line VVAF's mission and core values.

This is a full-time in-persion positon that operates in accordance with Work BC.

Key Project Activities
- Accomplishes department objectives by supervising staff and organizing and monitoring work processes.
- Maintains staff by orienting and training employees, and providing develop personal growth opportunities.
- Accomplishes staff job results by coaching, counseling, and disciplining employees.
- Plans, monitors, and appraises job results.
- Implements and enforces systems, policies, and procedures.
- Maintains safe and healthy work environment by establishing and enforcing organization standards and adhering to legal and company regulations.
- Completes operations by develop schedules, assigning and monitoring work, gathering resources, implementing productivity standards, resolving operations problems, maintaining reference manuals, and implementing new procedures.
- Gathers expenses, calculating monthly budget, and submitting information with expenditures, monitoring variances, and task adjustments.
- Provides quality service by enforcing quality and customer service standards.
- Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed.
- Provides a safe place for participants to share deadline and goals concerns.
