The Ministry of the Solicitor General, Ontario Provincial Police, and the Communications & Technology Services Bureau are seeking a qualified individual to join our unit. In this exciting, rewarding and challenging opportunity, you will provide specialized technical expertise, analysis, advice, support and recommendations in the operation and maintenance of radio technology systems in the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) and its ministry/agency partners, in a 24-7/365 telecommunications environment.

About Us:
The Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) is one of North America's largest deployed police services with more than 5,800 uniformed officers, 2,400 civilian employees and 830 Auxiliary officers. We provide essential services that ensure the safety and security of the people of the Province of Ontario. The OPP is a division of the Ministry of the Solicitor General, the largest operational ministry in the province with a presence in every community across Ontario. We are the largest police service in Ontario and the second largest in Canada.

The Communications and Technology Services Bureau (CTSB) is comprised of more than 1,000 dedicated uniform and civilian professionals who possess a wide variety of backgrounds, expertise, and technical skills. The challenge of meeting the needs of a provincial police service with over 9,000 uniform civilian members in a province as vast as Ontario is significant. **What can I expect to do in this role?**: To provide specialized technical expertise, analysis, advice, support and recommendations in the operation and maintenance of radio technology systems in the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) and its ministry/agency partners, in a 24-7/365 telecommunications environment.

**How do I qualify?**:
**Mandatory**:

- Ability to pass an OPP background/ security investigation.
- Valid Ontario Driver's Licence.

Ability to work on a regularly scheduled on-call basis

**Knowledge, Skills and Abilities**:

- Knowledge of the FleetNet radio system to diagnose problems and accommodate changes or upgrades.
- Knowledge of evolving Radio Technologies and Land Mobile Radio solutions
- Knowledge of all sub-system components involved in the telecommunications system and their inter
- Knowledge of communications software to manage LAN operations within a Communications Centre.
- Analytical and evaluative skills to identify root causes and resolve technical malfunctions, and to recommend solutions such as radio and telecommunication system changes and reconfigurations.
- Ability to plan, schedule and prioritize own work, providing notice of schedule and plans to the supervisor; work with mínimal supervision, particularly when operating in the field.
