**POSITION**

Conference Services & Events Manager

**GENERAL**

Pinnacle Hotel at the Pier, located on the waterfront of North Vancouver, is a 106-room full-service boutique hotel featuring 8,000 square feet of meeting and event space. We are looking for a Conference Services & Events Manager who must be a multi-faceted and driven to always exceed our guests’ expectations.

**ROLE**

Reporting to the Director of Sales & Catering. The main responsibility of the Conference Services & Events Manager is to sell and manage catering events from initial booking to completion and follow-up.

**SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES**
- Function as a member with the Catering Team to meet the business objectives of the Catering department.
- Up-sell the hotel’s services and products, suggesting suitable events, activities, floor plans and menus.
- Work closely with the client throughout the duration of the event, ensuring successful outcome from arrival to departure.
- Work also with Sales Manager’s clients to coordinate food and beverage content and requirements throughout the planning stages and site inspections, when requested.
- Organize events effectively with an acute sense of detail and ability to anticipate our client’s needs.
- Conduct site inspections and assist with walk-in inquiries and requests.
- Prepare accurate contracts in a timely fashion for client approval and signature.
- Prepare concise Banquet Event Orders, floor plans and resumes for distribution.
- Prepare reports as required.
- Other duties as required.

**JOB REQUIREMENTS**
- Minimum two to three years of management experience in the hospitality industry.
- Minimum two years' catering or events management experience in a full-service hotel environment.
- Experienced and knowledgeable of handling large catering events would be an asset.
- Bachelor's degree in Hotel Sales or Events Management or a relevant field of work, or an equivalent combination of education and work-related experience.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills for the purpose of presenting and discussing technical information to establish rapport and/or influence and gain understanding of others.
- Self-motivated individual who is organized and able to set and achieve goals for themselves in alignment with the department and hotel’s overall revenue goals.
- Display strong initiative and ability to make sound decisions independently.
- Ability to prioritize, organize and follow-up.
- Must be able to perform job functions with attention to detail, efficiency and accuracy.
- Must be able to resolve problems using good judgment; follow directions thoroughly
- Must be able to work cohesively with co-workers as part of a team.
- Demonstrated knowledge of hospitality systems and software such as Opera is a must.
- Demonstrated knowledge of Microsoft Office suite.

**Job Types**: Full-time, Contract
Contract length: 18 months

**Salary**: From $62,000.00 per year
