**Skilled Trades Sector Specialist, Credential Recognition Loans Program (CRP)**

**Position Summary**:
World Skills Employment Centre, a not-for-profit employment service for new Canadians, is seeking to fill the position of Skilled Trades Sector Specialist within the Credential Recognition Loans Program (FCRP).

The Credential Recognition Loans Program is delivered in partnership with World Skills, OCISO, LASSA and OCLF. The program is intended to help internationally trained professionals achieve their licensing/credential recognition goals and gain employment in their chosen careers in Canada.

**Major Responsibilities**:
**Intake and Needs Assessment**
- Conduct employment needs assessments for World Skills clients and document client’s employment goals, needs, and situations in the database, following a case management approach
- Follow up and further support clients with their employment action plan, documenting all interventions in the database following a case management approach
- Refer and schedule clients into CRP workshops and other relevant programs and services, and follow up with invitation reminders and telephone calls as needed

**Employment Coaching Services and Supports**
- Provide skilled trades sector coaching services and support to clients, including the co-creation of job search action plans and referrals to World Skills and community partner services
- Identify and refer clients to appropriate community partner services that would serve the needs of CRP clients from language services to skills building and training programs
- Refer clients to relevant services, programs and resources in the community and across the province
- Refer clients for credential assessment support as applicable
- Refer and support clients to access loans to advance their career goals
- Follow-up on client progress through regular check-ins, coaching and communications
- Participate in case management discussions with CRP team and other WS team members to identify opportunities for CRP clients
- Work with local trades employers to promote services and supports available to internationally trained tradespeople and those who would like to pursue a career in the trades
- Work closely with the employer engagement team to undertake targeted recruitment events with employers hiring in the trades sectors
- Work closely with World Skills teams and partner agencies to ensure service excellence and appropriate client referrals
- Invite clients to planned events such as targeted recruitment, networking and coaching events
- Maintain excellent working knowledge of local labour market trends, particularly in skilled trades, community resources, the needs of newcomer job seekers and employers, and other stakeholders
- Maintain excellent working knowledge of trades employment trends and supports available
- Participate in CRP team professional development activities related to the Skilled Trades and pathways to employment
- Attend staff meetings, team meetings and other external meetings as required and share best practices in the program
- Perform other duties from time to time, as required by the organization

**Reporting**
- Enter and maintain client information (referrals, notes etc.) in centralized profile tracking system and database
- Maintain electronic and hard copy files and collect client testimonials
- Document client interventions in database and generate reports according to program needs
- Contribute to narrative and other reports as required
- Provide weekly/monthly/quarterly reports as required

**Training and Workshop Coordination**
- Develop and deliver sector specific trainings, info sessions, and events in collaboration with the CRP and other teams at World Skills
- Build and maintain strong relationships with external stakeholders such as regulatory bodies, professional associations, etc., to design and deliver relevant sessions for CRP and World Skills clients
- Lead program information sessions and webinars for newcomer clients interested in pursuing employment in the skilled trades

**Outreach Activities**
- Collaborate to promote and organize CRP information sessions and outreach events including community-based and social media outreach
- Public engagement and promotion of CRP trades-specific services and supports to newcomers, employers, and service providers mainly in the Ottawa area
