**Summary**:
The Directional Drill Operator / Locator is responsible for verifying and marking existing underground utilities and drilling new underground utilities.

**Job Duties Responsibilities**:

- Operating the horizontal directional drill in accordance with safe work procedures
- Provide locating services, finding, verifying, and marking underground utilities
- Complete administrative and maintenance tasks
- Keep equipment and vehicles clean and in safe/working order
- Communicate with other workers
- Load and unload equipment in a safe manner
- Must be willing to help connect product and or reamers
- Report any accidents, damage, or defects immediately and work in a safe manner
- Maintain a clean and safe environment and yard
- Comply with all policies, procedures, and safety regulations
- Other duties as assigned

**Requirements**:

- 1+ years of locating, directional drill or equivalent experience
- Must have a valid driver’s license, Class 1 or 3 is considered an asset
- Able to read, understand locate maps and construction plans
- Physically capable of performing the duties of the position; standing, sitting, lifting, etc. for long periods of time in various weather conditions (hot/humid, rain, snow, winter)
- Willing and able to work out-of-town on a 21 day on, 7 day off shift is considered an asset
- Strong attention to detail and time management skills
- Strong teamwork and communication skills
- Safety-first attitude
- Provide: must have hard hat, high visibility vest, CSA approved steel-toed safety boots/shoes

**Salary**: $24.00-$28.00 per hour

- 10 hour shift
- 12 hour shift

Supplemental pay types:

**Experience**:

- directional drilling: 1 year (preferred)

Licence/Certification:

- driver's license (preferred)
