- JBH is a Clinical Education site in conjunction with McMaster University, and designated as an Academic Community Teaching Hospital. Its expanded campus includes the state-of-the-art Michael Lee-Chin & Family Patient Tower, featuring a new Emergency Department, 295 acute inpatient beds, 9 new Operating Rooms and post-anaesthetic care unit to support expanded medical, surgical and outpatient services. JBH is also a partner member of the Burlington Ontario Health Team (OHT).-
RESPONSIBILITIES:

- JBH is currently recruiting for a Part Time Allied Health Professional Practice Educator
- Reporting to the Manager, Interprofessional Practice, the individual in this role will work in partnership and in collaboration with the Professional Practice Leads and the Professional Practice Educator Team.
- This position provides support for specific profession and interprofessional education, practice and quality initiatives across the organization, including our off sight Wellness House facility to enhance clinical competency, quality improvement and team development.
- The Professional Practice Educator facilitates and supports continuous learning, professional development, and service excellence through the implementation of evidence based practice. The Professional Practice Educator will also contribute to organizational deliverables including corporate orientation, new hire onboarding, student coordination and organization committee membership.- SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Supports the development, implementation and evaluation of Corporate Policies & Procedures, forms, order sets etc.
- Lead, Corporate Orientation planning
- Co-Lead, Student Intake Coordination
- Coordinates Allied Health and Interprofessional education opportunities
- Attend and support profession specific meetings
- Represent the Professional Practice Educators at assigned corporate committees
- Support Incident Management/IRS review when AH involved
- Contribute to Allied Health performance appraisals, facilitate learning plan processes and conduct profession specific audits
- Attend the Professional Practice Lead(s) monthly meetings to facilitate PPL/discipline specific quality improvement goals and objectives
- Conduct needs assessment to inform development, implementation and evaluation of Allied Health educational and/or continuous quality improvement plans for the service

QUALIFICATIONS:
- Regulated Health Care Professional in good standing with regulatory college
- Masters in a health-related field preferred
- Minimum 5 years' experience in hospital setting
- 2 years' experience in health care leadership or change management
- Knowledge of HSP.net an asset
- Clinical experience working with an interprofessional team
- Demonstrated leadership, interpersonal and conflict resolution skills with the ability to work both collaboratively and independently.
- Proven ability to design and deliver programs
- Evidence of strong clinical knowledge and sound decision making
- Knowledge and experience with using and interpreting quality metrics and change management methodologies required
- Demonstrated proficiency with knowledge transfer, program development and implementation, project and change management
- Evaluation skills relative to clinical practice and education
- Committed to excellence in all elements of professional practice, including excellence in patient care processes, measuring outcomes, collaboration, and professional growth through education and research utilization
- Innovative, creative and professional role model
- Ability to prioritize/organize multiple projects with strict deadlines
- Able to promote practice excellence both internally and externally through research, education, and quality initiatives.
- Excellent interpersonal, communication skills, organizational time and change management skills.
