**We are currently looking for a full-time Pharmacy Technician to work at our Compounding facility in Hamilton.**

**Our site is located at**:
**Calea Ltd. 41 Brockley Drive in Hamilton**

**SCHEDULE**:
**Weekdays from 1:00pm to 9:00pm (with occasional flexibility to work from 11:00am to 7:00pm)**

**DESCRIPTION**:
Pharmacy Technician is responsible for performing daily technical dispensing-related activities (including release of final product) involved in providing medications to patients in accordance with established corporate procedures and provincial pharmacy laws.

On a daily basis, the Pharmacy Technician uses their knowledge, skills and experience related to the technical elements of prescription processing to ensure patients receive 100% accurate medications in a timely manner.

The Pharmacy Technician works collaboratively with all members of the pharmacy team, and ensures that all prescriptions dispensed by Calea have been clinically reviewed by the Pharmacist prior to release. The Pharmacy Technician also maintains competency in all areas of the prescription preparation process, including the receipt of prescriptions, telephone communication with patients/agents, customers and health care providers, entry of prescription information, and the dispensing/compounding and packaging of prescription products at Calea.

The Pharmacy Technician always strives to deliver quality patient care, excellent customer service and enhance patient safety by ensuring the accuracy, quality, integrity and timeliness of drug product preparation and release.

**QUALIFICATIONS, SKILLS & EXPERIENCE**
- Registered as a Pharmacy Technician. In good standing with Ontario College of Pharmacists
- One year Pharmacy Technician practice experience preferred
- IV/TPN sterile compounding experience preferred
- Experience working in a pharmaceutical GMP environment preferred
- Very strong attention to detail, with ability to work in a fast-paced, zero-defect environment is required
- Demonstrated ability to be accountable for work produced and action taken is required
- Ability to work independently or as member of a team in order to prioritize and optimize workflow
- Good mathematical ability is required
- Good written and verbal communication skills in English required
- Experience providing excellent customer service via telephone to patients/agents, CCAC/customers, prescribers and other health care professional required
- Effective negotiation and conflict resolution skills
- Experience in programming CADD ambulatory pumps preferred
