Reporting to the Manager, Corporate Security, the Supervisor, Corporate Security will provide and maintain a high level of security and life safety services to City employees, Council members, and members of the public visiting City facilities.

**Responsibilities**
- Overseeing day-to-day functions and services of contracted security guard service provider
- Recommends, consults, and supports building operators and management staff on security systems, hardware, policies, and procedures and enhances security at City facilities to integrate with the standard work plan and procedures
- Develops security plans for large events and conducts briefings and debriefings with staff in relation to these events
- Exchanges information with various City groups and outside groups before and after the completion of large events at City facilities
- In consultation with the Manager develops site-specific standards, site plans, policies, and procedures
- Reviews all incident and statistical reports for content and accuracy, conduct investigations, and liaises with local and other law enforcement agencies
- Oversees and manages City Trespass processes and policies, and issues orders as required
- Provides direction to staff and the public with the respect to policies and procedures of Corporate Security
- Assists with the implementation of all related policies, and procedures

**Requirements**:

- Two-year Diploma in Advanced Security Management or Protection or Security and Investigation Diploma or equivalent combination of education and experience in a related field
- Minimum five years of security experience implementing and managing corporate security services in accordance with policies and processes.
- Demonstrable working experience in the Criminal Code of Canada, the Trespass to Property Act, and Risk Management
- Practical experience in Physical Security Services is required
- Member of ASIS (American Society of Industrial Security), CPO (Certified Protection Officer, through IFPO), CSSM (Certified Security Supervision and Management), CPTED (Crime Prevention Through Environmental Design) lvl1 and lvl2
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, as well as de-escalation, problem-solving and critical thinking skills
- Knowledge of physical security systems, such as Dormakaba and Symphony is considered an asset
