This position wil l be hosted at Easter Seals Nova Scotia and wil l report to a Steering Committee with representat ives from the Accessibi l ity Directorate and community-based organizations from the disability community.
OBJECTIVES AND PURPOSE
The Accessibility Partnership Forum Coordinator is responsible for the development and implementation of the
Communication Strategic Plan which brings disability community organizations, the Accessibility Directorate and relevant stakeholders to come together to share information, strengthen community capacity and find new ways of working together and co-creating on shared goals.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Develop a Strategic Communication plan which serves to engage community organizations and relevant stakeholders to understand and participate in the Accessibility Partnership Forum
- Work with lead organizations and the Accessibility Directorate on a governance model which supports the work of the Accessibility Partnership Forum
- Develop a social media brand with supporting materials in coordination with and assistance from government resources
- Lead a provincial environmental scan of disability organizations with the goal of engaging and growing a membership under the Accessibility Partnership Forum
- Ensure the accurate and collaborative flow of information between all stakeholders linked to the
Accessibility Partnership Forum
- Act as liaison between community organizations and the Accessibility Directorate to further ideas, innovation and new ways of doing our work.
- Establish a network of community organizations with clear access points and timely two-way information between community and government. A knowledge sharing platform.
- When needed, organize capacity building activities for community organizations supported by the
Accessibility Directorate
- Ensure budget timelines are met as set by the Host Organization (Easter Seals Nova Scotia)
- Conduct both quantitative and qualitative outcome measurements for evaluation reporting
- Develop yearly Engagement and Evaluation reports identifying key accomplishments and impact.
- Develop a sustainability plan at project end to identify alternate resources and Case for Support
DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Post
- secondary degree or diploma focused on public relations, community development, communications or a combination of experience and education.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office
- Knowledge of the Nova Scotia Accessibility Act and the work of the Accessibility Directorate within the
Nova Scotia Department of Justice
- Experience working with community based groups including Boards of Directors and government stakeholders
- Experience developing, writing, and implementing strategic plans.
- The ability to work independently and with mínimal supervision.
- Experience in developing evaluation measures and outcome reporting.
- Wonderful communication skills which engage, encourage and foster collaboration
- The ability to travel and provide own transportation.
- Be able to manage a budget effectively.
- Be comfortable with social media and marketing.
- The ability to organize multiple stakeholders for collaborative and regular communication.

Compensation and Work Environment
The salary is $25 per hour based on a 37.5 hour work week. Three weeks paid vacation is provided. The position is located at our fully accessible, barrier free centre located at 22 Fielding Ave in the Burnside Industrial
Park. A flexible work schedule will be considered.
