GFL Ottawa (Hawthorne) is looking for a field supervisor

The Field Supervisor is responsible for assisting and overseeing the many service silos at GFL (utility, industrial, commercial, ER related field activities, etc.) and will be responsible for leading and motivating our team members to achieve our operational goals and objectives in a safe and professional manner.

**Key Responsibilities**:

- Ensure that a good work plan has been designed, and that the work is completed in a safe manner as per the assigned instructions.
- Oversee the work of the field staff while making sure that all staff are trained and certified for work activities.
- Serve as a liaison between the field staff and other members from various departments (e.g. management, customer service, sales, etc.).
- Ensure that the client is satisfied with the work being undertaken. Keep GFL’s dispatch and CSR personnel updated on any issues.
- Be the lead on major projects and various shut downs
- Review of site service reports (e.g. ensuring all staff, equipment, PPE, times are being recorded and tracked properly)

**Knowledge, Skills & Competencies**:

- High school diploma or equivalent (University or College an asset)

Punctual and reliable
- Minimum of two to five years’ experience in industry or industry related field.
- Effectively Communicate with operational, sales, and other departmental staff to assist with problem resolution and coordinate the appropriate response.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills in both official languages (EN & FR).
- Excellent organizational skills with ability to multi-task in a busy environment with unexpected interruptions
- A willingness to learn and be a TEAM player.
- Possess a valid AZ or DZ Class License
- Ability to motivate others to improve their quality of work.
- Well organized and has excellent time management and planning skills.
- Emergency Response (ER) experience an asset

**Work Schedule**:

- 45-50 hours per week, there may be a need to be out of town for a period time based to oversee various shutdowns, projects and or company or customer requests. There may be a need to work extra depending on the priority of the work that needs to be completed by the given deadline.
