As an **Adult, Youth, Childcare Worker**at our **Salt Spring Respite** Home in Coquitlam,**you will have the opportunity to be a part of a team that provides support, care, and mentorship to youth with complex mental health, behavioural challenges, and/or autism. This line is **40 hours/week, Sunday-Thursday 3pm-11pm.**
**Qualifications**:
- Minimum 1 year of experience working with individuals with complex mental health and behavioural challenges
- Ability to set strong boundaries and build appropriate rapport with individuals with ASD
- Clear, direct, and sensitive verbal and written communication skills
- Valid BC Class 5 Driver's License
- Current First Aid/CPR training
- Current Non-Violent Crisis Intervention (NVCI) or MANDT Training
- Proof of COVID-19 double vaccination record
- _ Preference will be given to qualified applicants of Indigenous ancestry_
**A sample of what you’ll be doing**:
- Wellness checks on clients, according to their safety plan
- Performing household maintenance duties, preparing meals, administering medication
- Encouraging and modelling acceptable social standards and setting and maintaining appropriate limits
- Driving clients to and from appointments, outings, etc. as needed
**Salary**: $26.00-$28.75/hour plus benefits
