ONA is seeking to hire two

**This is what else you can expect from this dynamic role**:

- Develop and deliver education to members and staff on negotiations and contract interpretation in various forums, new staff orientation, sector connects, provincial meetings and specific LRO education.
- Provide service to members and staff in a manner that is consistent with member values and keeps the interests of membership as the primary focus of work.
- Assist in planning, and coordinating orientation, bargaining, mediation, and arbitration for all Central Negotiations teams including ratification, communication, and any implementation issues in collaboration with Lead Negotiators and Managers.
- Provide support to staff pertaining to local bargaining, including the vetting of proposals (central/local), monitoring of settlements, coordination of the local issue arbitration process at the regional level, and preparation and presentation of HLDAA briefs at local issues arbitration.
- Negotiate First Collective Agreements for newly organized bargaining units partnered with assigned Regional Team Labour Relations Officers.
- Draft communication related to bargaining and contract interpretation in collaboration with managers.
- Provide assistance to regional staff by ensuring proposals address barriers to settlement as identified in bargaining direction, legislative changes and provisions achieved in central processes.
- Assist with the maintenance of Job Action Manual, Contract Interpretation Manuals, prototypes, and tip sheets, including reviewing and making recommendations on revisions.
- Assist with disclosure requests and assessment of financial data.
- Provide support for regional staff during negotiations, strike mandate votes, conciliation, mediation, ratification and/or any resulting job actions which include participation in preparation for job action, mobilization of members pre-job action, during job action and return to work following job action.
- Provide written reports to Management on areas of activity, as required.

**What we are looking for**:

- University degree, diploma or certificate in Industrial/Labour Relations or related equivalent education is required.
- A Registered Nurse (RN) is an asset.
- Three (3) to five (5) years of ONA labour relations and negotiations experience in the Hospital Labour Disputes Arbitration Act (HLDAA) and/ or Right to Strike (RTS) sectors is required.
- Alternative Dispute and Conflict Resolution and/or Advanced Mediation and Workplace Conflict Coaching Certification and/or training is an asset.
- Knowledge of the procedures, practices and techniques used in collective bargaining.
- Full understanding and demonstrated working knowledge of relevant legislation (e.g., _Employment Standards Act, Ontario Labour Relations Act, Human Rights Code_).
- Strong analytical, problem solving and critical thinking skills within a fast-paced environment.
- Demonstrated advocacy and presentation skills.
- Demonstrated skills in leadership, mentorship, and coaching.
- Excellent communication and advocacy skills.
- Bilingualism (French/English) is considered an asset.
