Position Overview:
The City of Prince Albert currently has a permanent opportunity available for a Secretary I in the Financial Services Department.

The Secretary I is responsible to provide clerical support to the Financial Services Department and its divisions. This position will provide information and customer service to the general public and internal departments.
Principle Duties & Responsibilities:
1. Key Clerical Duties
- Prepare, compose, collect, and/or transcribe material for routine and non-routine correspondence, agendas, minutes, reports, lists, forms, meetings and similar items.
- File creation, tracking and updates to Purchasing documents, Insurance claims, recurring requisitions, etc.
- Ensure coordination and completion of mailing processes, including sorting and distributing incoming and outgoing mail, affixing postage, and processing large mailouts.
- Arrange and schedule meetings and appointments.
- Accurately develop, monitor and maintain complex filing systems, both manual and electronic, and retrieve information from those filing systems.
- Monitor and update website information relating to Financial Services functions and notices.
- Create, monitor and maintain detailed manuals relating to Financial Services procedures.
- Monitor and replenish inventory of office supplies.
- Attend meetings to take minutes.

2. Key Customer Service Duties
- Assist internal departments and the public with information requests, and ensure they are advised on proper completion of forms and required processes.

Required Qualifications:

- Grade 12 or equivalent; and
- Certificate from an accredited institution in an office administration program; and
- Twelve (12) months related experience; and
- Minimum typing speed of 55 words per minute.
- Maintain a valid Class 5 Driver’s License.
