**JOB DESCRIPTION**

Under the supervision and direction of the Food Services Supervisor of Elm Grove Living Centre, the Cook 1 will assume responsibility for the preparation and serving of foods to the residents on a regular and modified diet menu; and will provide nutritional necessities in a safe, clean environment to all residents within the policies and procedures at Elm Grove Living Centre and the Ministry of Health and Long-Term Care Regulations. The cook will direct and oversee the production in the kitchen.

As a valued member of the team, the Cook 1 demonstrates a commitment to resident safety by providing quality service and products in accordance with the organization’s vision and mission.

**QUALIFICATIONS**:

- Culinary Management or Red Seal Designation
- At least 3 years experience as a cook in the Food Service Industry
- Able to follow standardized recipes, productions sheets and therapeutics
- Must have thorough knowledge of safe food handling techniques

**EDUCATION**:

- Chef training or Culinary Management Diploma from a program that meets the standard established by the Ministry of Training, Colleges and Universities.

**COVID-19 Requirement**: Employees will be required to be fully immunized (received the total number of required doses of vaccine approved by Health Canada)

**Salary**: $20.41-$21.63 per hour

Schedule:

- 8 hour shift
- Day shift
- Evening shift
- Monday to Friday
- Weekends as needed

Work Location: In person
