SALARY: $29.08 - $30.28 per hour

Working Details:
Provides community based support services for the family and loved ones of those supporting someone with mental health difficulties.
Minimum Education and Experience:
- Diploma or degree from an accredited College or University in a Human Services field.
- Five years related work experience.
- Valid driver's license and access to an insured personal vehicle. Must provide proof of adequate insurance coverage on request.
Knowledge:
- Knowledge of major mental illnesses including; signs/symptoms, medication management etc., addictions an sexual abuse issues.
- Understanding of Mental Health Act and confidentiality, principles of client centered relationships.
Skills and Abilities:
- Provide one-to-one and group support to individuals, modeling a positive attitude, utilizing affirmation and encouragement while integrating recovery concepts and client empowerment. Provide education through one-to-one and group facilitation on a variety of issues relevant to the client group. Demonstrated reliability (attendance and punctuality), communication skills and the ability to work
- Independently with mínimal supervision and as a team member.
- Strong assessment skills and effective service plan development.
- Must demonstrate a strong professional manner in dealing with clients, staff, families, and the public while being open, friendly, approachable, accepting and understanding. High-energy, strong attention to detail and confidentiality. Ability to work well under pressure. Must possess well developed communication, organizational and coordination skills. Functional knowledge of crisis intervention and assessment techniques. Demonstrated group facilitation skills.

The terms and conditions of employment are in accordance with the Collective Agreement between the Hospital and OPSEU Local 348.
