Catholic Family Services of Durham (CFSD) is a non-profit, charitable organization with a strong reputation in the community for providing high quality, evidence-based psychotherapy.

The mission of CFSD is to provide help, hope and healing to individuals, young parents, couples and families, regardless of beliefs. We do this through evidence-based psychotherapy and counselling, education and support.

We are currently seeking an experienced Trauma Social Worker/Psychotherapist for a full-time contract/maternity leave position. This individual will report to the Clinical Manager and will be responsible for providing trauma therapy. In addition, the incumbent will be responsible for referring clients to other community agencies and professionals to increase the support and services needed by the client.

The position is a 5 day per week position (35 hours), and offers pension contributions, paid sick and vacation time, and other wellness opportunities. Our staff are cohesive, and we maintain a positive and proactive work environment

**The primary duties required for this position include, but are not limited to**:

- Provide intake assessment, consultation, analyze and assess the needs of clients to determine individual case plans and appropriate trauma therapy plan
- Formulate and implement treatment plans/trauma therapy plan utilizing applicable recourses and establishing suitable timeframes for achievement of goals
- Evaluate the treatment of services by seeking feedback from clients to determine overall effectiveness and recommend appropriate alterations to ensure optimal outcomes
- Manage and meet targets for clinical caseload and maintain direct service requirements
- Manage administrative duties, including client statistical reporting systems as per funding requirements
- Maintain confidential clinical records of treatment contacts and assessment information for report management purposes utilizing tact and discretion at all times
- Perform other duties as assigned

**Qualifications and Skills**:

- A Master’s degree in Social Work or a related discipline
- Maintenance of RSW or RP qualification is a requirement
- Master’s level psychotherapy experience is required
- Extensive experience with individuals who have experienced or witnessed trauma and are experiencing a significant impact on emotional, physical, interpersonal, and vocational functioning/symptoms of trauma9
- EMDR trained is an asset
- Competence in CPT, TF-CBT and DBT
- Bilingual therapy skills an asset
- Commitment to the integrity and worth of all individuals which is consistently reflected in practice
- Ability to work independently and as a team member in a highly collaborative team environment
- Demonstrated advanced knowledge of the theory and practice of evidence based social work modalities, and experience in working from a strengths-based perspective
- Proficient in Microsoft Office and database
- Effective oral and written communication skills
- The ability to work with clients of diverse ethno racial and cultural backgrounds
- A satisfactory Vulnerable Sector Criminal Record check
