We are currently seeking an Employee Wellness Representative to join our

dynamic human resources team. You will lead all aspects of claims

administration by implementing a personalized approach to optimize

services, timelines, and support to ensure a safe return to work for all

employees. You will monitor financial implications of claims and oversee the

administration of attendance programs to address any absenteeism

challenges. Lastly, you will develop and implement employee wellness

programs to promote a culture of well-being.

Responsible for all aspects of claims management of non-occupational and occupational injuries and illness. This

position performs a variety of duties to ensure a safe, suitable and sustainable return to work is achieved by taking a

customized approach to coordinate administration and management of claims by ensuring the right services at the

right time and support through the process. Additionally, monitor the financial impacts of claims, providing

information on trends and opportunities for injury prevention, intervention, and cost mitigation. This position also

oversees the administration of attendance programs and corporate employee wellness program/initiatives as

proactive approaches to encourage an engaged workforce.

**QUALIFICATIONS, KNOWLEDGE & SKILLS**_ _

Education
- Community College Diploma relative to the area of responsibility.
- Special consideration will be given to applicants with:

- Certified Disability Management Professional (CDMP) Specialist

Experience
- Minimum 1 year of current related experience, preferably in unionized environment and/or schedule 2

employer.

Knowledge/Skills
- Knowledge of the OHSA, WSIA, and Ontario Human Rights Code (OHRC) as well as related legislation,

regulations, policies, programs and practices.
- Demonstrated knowledge of financial management practices relates to claims management and WSIB costs.
- Basic understanding of municipal government, its operations and services.
- Valid Ontario Driver’s License and access to a reliable vehicle.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to influence, motivate, provide training, using

flexible communication styles and to ensure suitable agreement, decisions are reached.
- Demonstrated initiative, and ability to make decisions involving broadly defined work, affecting major

functions.
- Demonstrated ability to work independently within broader policies and measured by results.
- Demonstrated ability to exercise significant discretion and sensitivity involving regular work with confidential

information.
