**Purpose**:
Osgoode Professional Development (Osgoode PD) is a revenue-generating professional education branch of Osgoode Hall Law School, operating within a highly competitive commercial market for professional and executive continuing education. Osgoode PD offers degree and non-degree programs to both local and international students. Offerings include full-time and part-time graduate degree LLMs, non-degree certificates, seminars and skills workshops, summer school and bridging programs, webinars, and custom training for corporations and government. Staff and programs are located at both the York University campus and Osgoode PD's downtown Toronto office. Reporting to the Manager, Program & Event Services, the Seminar Assistant (SA) is responsible for event, program and class day to day operations, support, and execution. This includes and is not exclusive to classroom and event setup, facilities maintenance, and logístical support for instructors, students, along with other internal and external clients. The SA is responsible for maintaining the professional presentation and appearance of OsgoodePD's facility.
**Education**:
High School graduation, with preferably some hospitality service training.
**Experience**:
Minimum of 2 years of work-related experience including assisting with the coordination and set-up of programs, classes, and events, working in a professional and project-oriented environment, and working with customers/clients to provide excellent customer service.
**Skills**:
Excellent organizations skills, with attention to details and competing deadlines in a high-volume environment.
Obtaining and providing information in a clear and concise manner.
Good written communications skills.
Excellent verbal presentation skills.
Dealing courteously and effectively with people at all levels.
Exercising tact and diplomacy.
Effective interpersonal skills.
Working effectively under pressure.
Excellent customer service and pleasant telephone manner.
Ability to multi-task throughout each day.
Exercising initiative and good judgment.
Ability to work as an effective member of a team and independently.
Technical Skills:
Intermediate level Microsoft Office Word, Outlook.
Basic to Intermediate level knowledge in an Event Management System.
Basic level Excel.
