**Job Summary**

**Job Overview**
- Part-time, contract
- Hours per week vary depending on each student’s needs and the tutor’s availability
- Most tutoring sessions occur in the evenings and on weekends
- Preference for tutors who can commit for the school year or semester
- Compensation generally ranges from a base rate of $20-25/hr, depending on educational qualifications and work experience.

- person and virtually throughout Vanier, Rockcliffe, Cyrville, Lower Town, Downtown and within 10 KM radius

**Duties**
- Conduct one-on-one or small group tutoring sessions tailored to the specific needs of each student.
- Travel to and tutor in student's home (pre-screened for safety)/library or tutor virtually.
- Develop customized lesson plans that align with the curriculum and address individual learning objectives.
- Prepare session report after completion of each session.
- Create a supportive and encouraging environment that promotes student engagement and motivation.
- Maintain accurate records of student performance and progress.

**Qualifications / Requirements**
- Certified or retired teacher/Professional/ student teachers/ Education Assistants/university/College students (completed at least one full year of University/College )
- The ability/experience to tutor in any of the following: Math, Science and English.
- Have knowledge of Ontario K-12 School Curriculum.
- Previous experience working with special needs (an asset)
- Access to reliable vehicle, a valid driver's license, and able to travel in and around Vanier, Rockcliffe, Cyrville, Lower Town, Downtown and within about 10 KM radius.
- Access to own laptop/desktop and a reliable internet.
- Open to completing a criminal background check (Background checks from other agencies are accepted)
- Legally eligible to work in Canada

**Skills**
- Experience working with children, particularly those requiring special education support.
- Basic computer skill
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, to convey complex concepts clearly.
- Patience, empathy, and adaptability in addressing the unique challenges faced by students.
- Strong organizational skills to manage multiple students’ needs effectively.
- Open to tutoring virtually, as needed

This Tutor position/s offers an opportunity to make a meaningful impact on students' educational journeys while fostering a positive learning atmosphere. Please note that this is a part-time independent contractor position with flexible hours. Compensation will be based on experience and qualifications.
