This new role will suit a hands-on, results motivated leader who is highly skilled in leadership development and creative problem solving. We are looking for a driver of change that can uphold The Root Cellar’s mission, vision and corporate values while executing the company’s strategic plan, and ensuring processes and systems are in place and running smoothly throughout their entire organization.
Reporting directly to the CEO of The Root Cellar, the experience you have gained in senior level management roles in dynamic grocery environments will be fully utilized as you take on accountability for the healthy, sustainable operations of the organization and achievement of all financial and operational targets.

**Your day as Chief Operating Officer may include**:

- Managing the overall financial and operational profitability of The Root Cellar while ensuring alignment with their values and culture.
- Overseeing the entire day-to-day operations of both stores, rolling up sleeves when required, and monitoring progress and traction in achieving the measures and targets.
- Working in consultation with the CEO to develop capital plans and annual budgets.
- Building a culture of accountability for service excellence and ensuring the executive, leadership teams and team members “live, eat and breathe” the values that make The Root Cellar unique.
- Developing and fostering an environment where leaders and team members are accountable, innovative, and their careers and leadership skills are developed.

**Our ideal Chief Operating Officer brings**:

- 5+ years of executive level management experience in the grocery industry with proven results required.
- Experience working in fast-paced, entrepreneurial and dynamic environments.
- An extensive background and experience in business management.
- A degree in a relevant field with a combination of education and related professional experience preferred.
