The Manitoba government is seeking a highly motivated Controls Technician to work with the Asset Management Division of Labour, Consumer Protection and Government Services. Conditions of Employment:

- Must be legally entitled to work in Canada
- Must be able to provide and maintain a satisfactory Criminal Record Check and Child Abuse Check, additional security checks may be required.
- Valid class 5 driver's licence with the ability to travel within District 1 as required.
- Must be able to perform the physical requirements of the position for extended periods of time (e.g. working alone, operating equipment, exposure to varied weather conditions, crawling, climbing ladders & scaffolds, vibrations, noise, dust, lifting up to 25kg, and wearing personal protective equipment).

Qualifications:
**Essential**:

- Experience working with pneumatic/electric and DDC control systems including maintenance, commissioning, repairs and installation of HVAC systems.
- Working knowledge of plant/building system operations, maintenance and construction functions and techniques.
- Experience with control system programming and demonstrated skills in repair and troubleshooting for building HVAC.
- Ability to program DDC controllers/PLC's OR to understand line logic programs and logic flowcharts/programs
- Experience reading and interpreting blueprints/mechanical drawings
- Knowledge of Workplace Health and Safety regulations
- Experience using Microsoft Suite including Excel, Word and Outlook
- Written communication skills
- Verbal commumunication skills
- Ability to work independently with minimum supervision

**Desired**:

- Journeyperson electrician (H, HC, HI) Controls Instrument Mechanic (M-I) - look at RRC course names Instrument Technologist*
- Experience computer programming and/or computer networking

**Duties**:

- Reporting to the Maintenance Manager the incumbent is responsible for the installation, repair and maintenance of pneumatic/electric and Direct Digital controls for HVAC systems and_
- equipment for owned and net leased buildings throughout District One (Winnipeg)._
