**SUMMIT, an Earth Services Company,** is seeking a **GIS Specialist **(Competition: #24-01-0660) to join our busy Reclamation, Remediation and Risk Management (RRRM) team of project managers, environmental analysts and field and office specialists. This is a full-time temporary position (May 1st, 2024- September 1, 2024) and can be based out of Summit’s Calgary or Lloydminster, AB offices.**:
**What to Expect**:
You will be supported by the entire Summit organization which consists of a dynamic team of Professional Engineers, Biologists, Chemists and Agrologists, technical administrators, business development professionals, and an in-house IT department.

**Job Duties**:

- Managing assigned tasks by gaining a complete understanding of scope, time allocation and delivery schedule.
- Integration of multi-disciplinary data and documents from a variety of sources and formats.
- Preparation of customized maps, web services and data delivery systems for clients in the Energy industry.
- Interaction with Summit’s GIS and Reporting resources team as well as all of Summit’s main business units.
- Aid in development, improvement planning or programming updates with Summit’s GIS based data collection systems.

**Qualifications**:

- Working towards a BSc in GIS, Geomatics or Geography with a focus on GIS.
- Fundamental and theoretical working knowledge and experience with ArcGIS
- Familiarity with ArcGIS online
- Excellent communication and analytical skills
- The ability to script in Python would be an advantage
