**Job Synopsis**

The Financial Analyst - Payables is responsible for day-to-day financial accounting matters, ensuring assigned tasks are completed promptly and accurately.

This salaried full-time position (37.5 hours per week) will be responsible to the duties outlined below and will provide data entry, administrative, and analytical support to the financial services team of MCC Ontario.

**Qualifications**

Required
- Experience in an accounting role with a financial services team
- Working knowledge of accounting and bookkeeping procedures
- Advanced Microsoft Excel skills (creating spreadsheets and using financial functions)
- Organizational and time-management skills, with the proven ability to take initiative
- Attention to detail, with an ability to process high volumes of financial information accurately and efficiently
- Customer Service skills to maintain relationship with various stake holders
- A bachelor’s degree plus 1-2 years of accounting experience, or a business diploma plus 3-5 years experience
- The ability to regularly work from the MCC Ontario offices at 50 Kent Avenue, Kitchener

Preferred
- Experience working for a charitable organization
- Familiarity with accounting software and fund accounting concepts

**Key Responsibilities**

Key Responsibilities:
Financial Administration
- Processing all vendor invoices and payments including manual checks, EFTs, e-transfers, online transfers, pre-authorized debits, and bank transfers
- Track and enter vendor, staff, and CG EFT payment information
- Verify and approve Refugee Assistance Program payment requests
- Participate in the monthly financial closing cycle including journal entries and AP
- Prepare other periodical financial or adjacent reporting on the required periodic basis
- Analyze historical GL transactions as requested
- Prepare documents for quarterly Audit and Finance Committee meetings as requested
- Other general financial administration as directed by supervisor.

Service Provider Relationships
- Serve as corporate account administrator for company credit cards and cell phone plan, including implementation of hardware policy for staff on the plan. Manage gas cards for company vehicles
- Manage addition and deletion of approved drivers onto the organization’s insurance plan
- Manage transitions for employees onboarding and offboarding with credit cards, driver’s insurance and cell phones

Other
- Perform other job related duties as assigned
- Participate in MCCO orientations, provincial meetings, Peace Conference and Staff Development Day
- Participate in a local faith community, being willing to use your personal gifts within this community
- Maintain a high level of integrity, reflecting Christian respect and Christ's unconditional love to those with whom you work, including colleagues, partner agencies, the homeless and marginalized
- Answer inquiries about MCC from constituency and general public; communicate MCC's values, articulating the importance of MCC's criteria for workers, all of whom serve as representatives of the Mennonite and Be in Christ churches which support MCC
- Model nonviolent peacemaking through respectful daily interactions with staff and the public.

**Salary Details**

Base salary: $55,707. This role also includes a company paid benefit package starting on day one

**Benefits**

LTD premiums are the responsibility of the team member.
