**Job Description**:
CIBC Asset Management (CIBC AM) is one of Canada's largest asset management firms with approximately $180 billion in assets under management and possess over fifty years of experience designing and implementing client solutions. What you’ll be doing

As the Client Portfolio Manager, Fixed Income you will be responsible for the commercialization of CIBC AM’s fixed income business, effectively developing and maintaining thought leadership and client relationships in Canada and globally with a particular emphasis on elevating CIBC AM’s distribution expertise to deliver a highly saleable and scalable Fixed Income portfolio management suite of solutions. The role reports to the MD & Head of the Institutional team.

You’ll have the flexibility to manage your work activities within a hybrid work arrangement where you’ll spend 1-3 days per week on-site, while other days will be remote. Client interaction and travel will be required.

How you’ll succeed

contribute to CAM’s professional, collaborative, and entrepreneurial culture by working collaboratively with all of the members of CIBC AM to ensure that CIBC AM is able to distinguish itself through the provision of distinctive, world-class investor service and communication. Conducting themselves as a partner to the investment professionals of CIBC AM and seeking to contribute to the overall business as well as to their functional responsibilities. Embracing a continuous improvement approach to the business and proactively seeking improvements in both their particular market and service approach across the entire business. Willingly taking on the “hands on” work required given the comparatively flat nature of the organization. Being accustomed to working in a matrixed environment where knowledge, talent and resources reside in multiple locations.

The role requires cooperation and collaboration with a variety of colleagues across the firm and enterprise, such as:
- Clients & prospects across the enterprise - mutual funds, high net worth, broker-dealer, commercial, and institutional clients and consultants- Global distribution teams servicing institutional, high net worth, advisor, and bank clients- International staff and relevant relations with partner asset management firms- Other CPMs members in Fixed Income, Equity, Sustainable Investment and Currency & Multi Asset Management- Portfolio Management & Research Team- Product Development Team- Operations Management and Investment Services- Legal and Compliance, HR, Technology & Global Operations partners

Who you are-
- An undergraduate degree is required, a graduate degree in business, finance and/or economics is desired.- Portfolio Management experience is preferred- CFA designation is strongly preferred, other designations a plus- Business development leadership and management experience considered an asset.- A high impact player in the investment business with an expertise in asset management - most likely from an independent asset manager, the asset management business of a bank or insurance company, or an investment consulting firm. The individual will have held a senior role with organizations respected for their products, market penetration, strong sales efforts, and client service.- Experience presenting to clients, in sales processes, and with high performance content and communication for clients, advisors and prospects.- The ability to conduct business in English (French is an asset).- Registration with OSC as Advising Representative
