We are seeking a full time Corporate Safety and Risk Advisor who will deliver such a legacy through their work.**

Reporting to the Manager of Human Resource Services, the Corporate Safety and Risk Advisor is responsible for the development, implementation and maintenance of corporate-wide Occupational Health and Safety (OHS) strategic and operational risk management and compliance programs at the Town of Morinville in alignment with organizational objectives. The Advisor provides leadership, expertise, technical support, and direction in the implementation of the health, safety and risk elements of Town programs to enable management, employees and contractors to achieve accountability in their respective areas and protect the Town from exposure to risk that could have adverse consequences to Town operations, financial position, or community relations. This position formulates partnerships across the organization to deliver value-added service with a focus on safe, effective, prevention-based practices with measurable results that strive for exceptional customer service.

**Key Responsibilities**:

- Development, maintenance, and implementation guidance of a risk based OHS Management System (OHSMS) that outlines accountabilities, responsibilities, expectations, and requirements throughout the organization.
- Administer a robust OHSMS in compliance with legislation, corporate standards, and focused on assurance and verification of policies, procedures and work practices through proactive and reactive programs and issues resolution.
- Examine, design, and implement risk management and mitigation strategies, programs, techniques, and measures; develop related goals, program performance expectations, and related work plans.
- Ensure effective and efficient delivery of services and make changes as required. Conduct research, analyze data, measure performance, assess program and system effectiveness and develop comprehensive reports.
- Build and drive corporate-wide visibility and support the integration of health, safety and risk management systems, programs, and initiatives into operations; reinforce a positive health and safety culture focused on continuous improvement. Provide guidance, mentoring, auditing, and analysis support.
- Provide expert advice in contractor safety management, ensure systems and processes address prime contractor responsibilities, and oversee inspection and evaluation of worksites, equipment, and practices.
- Conduct assessments, research and audits of Town operations, worksites, and assets; oversee inspections performed by external agencies.

**Requirements**:

- Post-Secondary Degree or Diploma with a focus in Occupational Health and Safety, risk management, or related discipline. (Note: Combinations and equivalencies of education and experience may be considered).
- 5+ years of progressively responsible and direct professional experience in OHS management, with expertise in risk management, program development and management, contractor safety and injury claims management.
- Canadian Registered Safety Professional (CRSP) designation is required.
- Risk Management (CRM) Certification is an asset.
- Valid Alberta Operators Class 5 Licence, along with satisfactory Driver’s Abstract is required.
- Advanced knowledge in the Alberta OHS Act, Regulation and Code, other applicable legislation, industry standards and best practices, with a sound understanding of municipal operations, policies and objectives.
- Intermediate skills with Microsoft Office (i.e., Excel, Word, Outlook, etc.).
- Strong written and interpersonal communication skills with attention to detail and a high level of accuracy.
- Project management and process optimization experience.

**Compensation/Hours of Work**:Annual salary range of $95,770—114,354 (7 Step Grid), based on a 35-hour work week. We offer a comprehensive benefits package including pension, professional development opportunities and a supportive work environment.
