**Job description**:
The “Financial Analyst” is responsible for supporting accounting and reporting functions with a focus on cost analysis and pricing inputs to generate customer quotes, cost recovery as well as sales and margin reporting

**Job Duties**
- Maintenance of accounting and costing master data for all materials (Raw Materials, WIP and Finished Goods), in charge of updates of inventory costs, including review and update of BOMs, routings and allocations
- Analyze and provide rationale for changes in production cost drivers against targets, including overhead variance analysis. Identify products that are being produced below margin expectations
- Collection and review of production and packaging labour actuals and compare vs. standards
- Complete cost analysis and pricing inputs to generate customer quotes, cost recovery, sales and Margin Reporting
- Support calculation of cost standards for new products or changes in existing products, reporting data and comparisons to Plan to Finance and Operations
- Calculate direct labor and manufacturing overhead rates for each location on a regular basis. Update all relevant ERP, quoting, and accounting systems with the new rates
- Analyze and report inventory purchases and usage. Work closely with operations to fully understand and report the cause of all variances
- Monitor changes to the manufacturing reporting system to ensure that all changes are correct in reference to determining product cost and inventory valuation
- Prepare and review the inventory/cost of goods sold journal entries, and all related reports and analysis to ensure proper valuation of inventory
- Perform various month end activities, including journal entries, variances analysis and management reporting
- Work with cross-functional teams to improve the cost accounting systems, processes, and procedures
- Develop and maintain Inventory and Cost Accounting reporting at various levels. Assist with generating reports and data exports
- Support capital appropriation requests with financial analysis and capital process guidance
- Support supply chain and procurement team
- Provide ad-hoc financial analysis and modeling

**Qualifications**
- Major in finance, accounting and/or business focus required
- Professional accounting designation (CMA, CGA, CA, CPA) preferred
- A minimum of 3 years of finance or accounting experience in manufacturing
- Excel mastery and financial systems acumen (ERP experience is an asset);
- Experience with pharmaceutical or consumer products is strongly preferred
- Excellent communication and presentation skills - ability to prepare and clearly & concisely present complex financial analytics and insights to senior operations and finance partners
- Resourceful and independent. Demonstrated success within a challenging environment with a high degree of change and complexity
- Solid understanding of accounting principles in manufacturing, and ability to manage a strong compliance environment is required
- An active learner and ambitious individual who will take pride and ownership of both short-term & long-term objectives
- have a sense of urgency and works well under pressure

**Salary**: From $65,000.00 per year
