**Responsibilities**:

- Complies with the Occupational Health and Safety Act legislation and regulations and ensures safe working conditions are in place.
- Ensures that equipment is properly setup and maintained to OEM (original equipment manufacturing) standards and operators perform safe operations on the equipment.
- Adapts and responds to changing conditions, priorities & unpredictable occurrences, machine shutdowns and repairs.
- Responsible for performing recalibrations to ensure that the seal heads are properly aligned to meet the product quality standards consistently.
- Consistently ensures equipment is running effectively and efficiently to meet the customers’ and Tempo’s expectations in regard to quality and quantity.
- Be actively part of the high-performing team in the converting department to accomplish the departmental goals.
- Work collaboratively with internal team members both within and outside of their department.
- Supports the effective implementation of all applicable company policies, operating procedures, plant standards and work-instructions within the scope of their responsibility, which include quality management, HACCP food safety program, GMP and Environmental, Health and Safety procedures, etc.
- Responsible for the training and development of the employees as per the manager’s/Training Coordinator’s instructions; ensure all appropriate training records are completed.

**Job Duties**:

- Reads and comprehends the schedule daily and verifies with the docket for the accuracy of order specifications.
- Collects all the necessary tools and accessories needed for the order, sets-up the equipment and is prepared for the operation.
- Verifies and ensures that the proper films are on the machines as per the schedule and docket prior to setup.
- Adheres to the personal protective equipment requirements of the plant.
- Performs optimal setups to provide highest quality output while ensuring the maximum efficiencies of equipment.
- Coordinates with the manager, supervisor and scheduler to organize workflow according to priorities.
- Reads process control and verifies whether it’s the correct one for the order; if there is no process control available, gets one made.
- Sets up machine as per process control and fine tunes machine so it is running at maximum output without jeopardizing quality or output.
- Communicates with operators about issues, things they fix and problems with machines and works with them as a team to maintain good quality and efficiency.
- Checks all running machines for proper setups by controlling and adjusting machine settings in accordance with process controls.
- Monitors lines to ensure packaging lines and equipment are functioning normally and makes necessary adjustments as may be required to keep the lines running.
- Performs quality inspections at the beginning of their shift, upon completion of setups and at various times throughout their shift.
- Records deviations in communication books and statistical charts.
- Keeps the production floor area and equipment clean and orderly.
- Communicates to previous and oncoming shifts’ Setup Operators and Converting Supervisors any problems to see how everything is going and discusses any issues from the previous day.
- Checks quarantine daily to see if any rework needs to be done. If so, directs the proper employees to get task done.
- Identifies when a machine need repaired (not performing to OEM standards) and writes a work order.
