**The Role**

We are seeking a skilled and passionate Chef and Culinary Educator to join our team. As a Chef and Culinary Educator, you will play a pivotal role in ensuring customer satisfaction and enhancing their culinary experiences. You will be responsible for conducting cooking classes, educating customers on appliance features, catering for various events, maintaining food safety standards, and collaborating with the Marketing Director on promotional initiatives. **What you will be doing**
- Conduct product demonstrations and engage in discussions to educate customers about various appliance features, benefits, and functionalities.
- Organize and deliver cooking classes to customers and the general public, providing hands-on instruction and guidance on using appliances effectively.
- Attend training sessions conducted by manufacturers to stay updated and knowledgeable about the latest product releases, features, and technologies, even if it requires off-site or after-hours participation.
- Respond to requests and provide catering services for builder functions, staff events, and product knowledge functions, ensuring timely and efficient delivery of high-quality meals and services.
- Coordinate and cater for designer evenings, community events, and other similar occasions, ensuring flawless menu planning, food preparation, and service execution.
- Take responsibility for purchasing all necessary food items and equipment required for catering functions, ensuring proper inventory management, quality control, and adherence to budget guidelines.
- Enforce strict adherence to safe food handling practices, including proper storage, preparation, cooking, cooling, and serving of food items.
- Maintain a clean and hygienic working environment by implementing and monitoring sanitation protocols, including regular cleaning and sanitization of surfaces, utensils, and equipment.
- Stay updated on the latest food safety regulations, guidelines, and best practices by actively participating in educational sessions and training programs.
- Supervise and provide assistance in training all direct reports, if required, ensuring they have the necessary knowledge and skills to perform their duties effectively.
- Prepare and deliver engaging presentations at demo nights, media interviews, and in-house conferences, showcasing product features, benefits, and usage tips to educate and captivate the audience.
- Collaborate with the Marketing Director and Owner to contribute to marketing materials, including brochures, website content, and social media posts, supporting promotional efforts and maintaining consistent messaging.

**To be successful in this role you must have**
- Additional education or certification in culinary arts, hospitality management, or a related field. Red Seal preferred.
- Previous experience in customer service, food industry, catering, or a similar role is typically required.
- Strong knowledge of kitchen appliances, their features, and functionality.
- Proficient in safe food handling practices, sanitation protocols, and food safety regulations.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to effectively educate and engage with customers, colleagues, and other stakeholders.
- Organizational and time management skills to handle multiple tasks, prioritize effectively, and meet deadlines.
- Basic computer literacy for managing schedules, documentation, and communication.
- Physical stamina to perform tasks in a kitchen environment and lift and carry catering equipment, food items, and supplies.
- Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and potentially attend off-site training or events.
