**SERVICE COORDINATOR FOR PEOPLE WITH DEVELOPMENTAL DISABILITIES**
- This is an 18 month fixed term 1.0 FTE (35 hours per week) position based in Guelph serving Wellington County._

Compass Community Services is a multi-service Family Service agency providing support services to individuals, families, and children. Compass is committed to strengthening individual, couple and family life; those dealing with physical, sexual and emotional abuse; trauma; supporting people with developmental challenges and those caring for them; and, more.

We are recruiting for an 18 month fixed term (June 22nd 2023 - December 22nd 2024) **Developmental Services - Service Coordinator** (1.0 FTE), to assume the responsibility of providing service coordination and advocacy for children and adults with developmental disabilities and their families living in Guelph and Wellington County.

**Key Accountabilities**
- Employ a client-centered approach when working one-on-one with clients to progress towards achieving goals
- Demonstrated ability to support clients, family members or others with concern and empathy; respecting their confidentiality and privacy and communicating in a courteous and respectful manner
- Demonstrated ability to collaborate with partner agencies to the benefit of individuals in the community
- Complete relevant client documentation/profiles to aid clients in accessing services in the community
- Act in accordance with relevant Ministry governing regulations
- Ensure a holistic, quality approach to client care consistent with Compass’s Mission, Vision, Values and Strategic Plan

**Qualifications**
- Certification in a human services field (e.g. social work, psychology, DSW designation, etc.) or related training or experience
- Knowledge and understanding of community services and their functions as they relate to the DS sector
- A minimum of 2-3 years work experience with people with developmental disabilities in a similar role/environment
- Willingness to maintain a yearly certification in 1st Aid and CPR
- Demonstrated proficiency in operation and use of a computer, related technologies and software required for the role (i.e. Caseworks, Microsoft Office suite of programs)
- Valid driver’s license, appropriate automobile insurance as required by Compass and access to a road-worthy vehicle required.
- Availability to work flexible hours
- Demonstrated ability to work sensitively with people from many cultural backgrounds, levels of ability and income levels
