**REPORTS TO**: Water Quality Technical Specialist

**LOCATION**: Initial Placement - Burford Administration Office

**Minimum Qualifications**:

- Post secondary diploma in Civil Engineering Technician/Technology, Environmental Engineering Technician/Technology, Construction Engineering Technician/Technology, or equivalent
- 2 years’ work experience relating to municipal water, wastewater and stormwater infrastructure and project management preferred
- Demonstrated verbal and written communication skills including report writing and presentations
- Proven analytical and problem solving skills that are resolution oriented
- Demonstrated working knowledge of applicable provincial legislation, regulations and industry standards
- Excellent communication, team, interpersonal, and public relations skills
- Exemplary organizational, records management, and computer skills
- Ability to work independently in a fast paced team environment
- Physical ability to perform activities outdoors, including construction sites, in all types of weather conditions
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Office software
- Valid driver’s license with an acceptable drivers abstract and provision of own vehicle
- Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends

**Assets**:

- Working knowledge of AutoCAD, Civil 3D and GIS Software
- Certified Engineering Technologist (CET) designation through OACETT, or equivalent, or the ability to obtain within 2 years
- Certified Water Operator (WT1 or higher)
- Water Quality Analyst Certification
- Limited Groundwater Certification

**Duties**:

- Provide technical assistance to various personnel regarding the departmental work plan and programs
- Coordinate and implement environmental compliance monitoring and sampling programs
- Assist in implementation of the groundwater monitoring programs
- Assist in the coordination of engineers, contractors, and suppliers in the installation, maintenance, and repair of the County’s urban and rural drinking water supply systems
- Ensure conformance with water quality procedures and protocols
- Operate, maintain and provide technical support for small drinking water systems
- Assist with the maintenance and development of new and existing policies and procedures
- Liaise with the Brant County Health Unit and general public regarding Small Drinking Water Systems
- Data management and analysis
- Other duties as assigned

**Salary Range** - $63,827 - $74, 675 **Job Grade 5** 35 hours per week
