**Clinical Dietician II**

**What you’ll do**
- Coordinate daily activities and provides leadership in the planning and implementation of quality dietary and nutrition services at the centre; evaluate services and liaises with key stakeholders in the achievement of goals and objectives. Ensure dietary services are carried out in accordance with Canadian Standards and applicable food handling protocols.
- Develop and implement client-centered nutritional care plans. Conduct nutrition assessments; screen clients for nutritional intake and risk using a diet history. Provide recommendations based on assessment and treatment modality for nutrition regime including eligibility for dietary supplements, prescribes modified diets.
- Monitor/evaluate the clients’ degree of compliance and progress to provide data regarding the overall effectiveness of the interventions carried out and revises the nutrition care plan as appropriate. Collaborate with interdisciplinary team and participates in rounds, patient care conferences and program meetings as required.
- Coordinate food services delivery and distribution with food service staff; develop therapeutic menus and menu planning, set up systems, process and procedure to enable the efficient delivery, distribution and procurement of all nutritional products, linens, equipment and supplies. Provide input into the nutrition program budget process.
- Provide nutritional policy, practice and nutritional consultation; contribute to multi-disciplinary planning on health promotion and prevention. Provide leadership in assessing nutrition needs, resolving nutrition care issues, establishing priorities, developing and evaluating programs, enabling access to culturally appropriate food.
- Provide education and counselling to clients/families; conduct presentations nutrition, participate in the development of instructional resources for client teaching and prepares journal/publication reviews. Interpret current scientific information and Federal/Provincial food and nutrition guidelines to others.
- Maintain contact/exchanges information with physicians, other health professionals and members of community agencies involved in intervention program for clients with chronic, complex health care needs.
- Maintain records in accordance with established procedures and policies and prepare/maintain statistical data, correspondence, reports and other documentation, as required. Complete Annual Reports on Food Security programs and initiatives.
**What you bring**
**Qualifications**:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Dietetics or Nutrition from an accredited university.
- Two (2) years recent, related clinical experience in a residential care setting.
- Completion of a Dietetic Internship accredited by the Dietitians of Canada.
- Registered member of the College of Dietitians of British Columbia.
- Local area travel requires use of personal vehicle.
- Valid BC Driver’s License.
You will also have
- Knowledge of nutrition issues relevant to clients who are medically compromised in conjunction with mental health and addictions issues.
- Knowledge of nutrition education principles, methods and delivery techniques.
- Demonstrated ability to assess client responses to care plan, and to respond appropriately
- Knowledge of community resources and available services.
- Knowledge of group facilitation skills and conflict resolution techniques and demonstrated analytical and problem solving skills.
- Knowledge of Food Security issues and possible strategies to enhance Food Security initiatives for facilities and marginalized populations.
- Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing and in collaborating for community interaction.
- Demonstrated ability to work independently and in collaboration with others as a member of the interdisciplinary team.
- Demonstrated ability to plan, organize and prioritize workload.
- Physical ability to perform the duties of the position.
- Commitment to upholding the shared responsibility of creating lasting and meaningful reconciliation in Canada as per TRC (2015) and BC's Declaration on the Rights of Indigenous Peoples Act (2019).
- Knowledge of social, economic, political and historical realities impacting indigenous communities and familiarity with Indigenous Cultural Safety and anti-racism and accompanying reports (BC DRIPA, TRC, etc.).
