**General Accountability**

Responsible for the installation and maintenance of custom electronic security system solutions. This includes access control, intercoms, surveillance equipment, barrier free automation, intrusion and alarm monitoring. Electronics Security Technician also provide locksmith services - the installation and maintenance of locks, keys and mechanical security systems. From time to time, Technician may be required to serve as the Team Leader for specific project(s).

**Specific Responsibilities**

Electronic Security System Solutions
- Install, service, troubleshoot, diagnose and repair various types of electronic security systems and alarm devices or related equipment, following blueprints of electrical layouts and building plans, primarily at commercial and industrial sites.
- On site product sales and/or product upgrade recommendations to increase security.

This Work Includes, but not limited to:

- Mount and fasten control panels, doors and window contacts, sensors, or video cameras.
- Position equipment using hand tools, power tools, or heavy equipment.
- Mount raceways and conduits and fasten wires to wood and/or metal framing, using staplers and other appropriate equipment.
- Run wiring to connect equipment.
- Working at heights utilizing aerial lift from time to time.
- Commission systems and train customers on product use.

Test, Inspect, Repair:

- circuits and sensors, following wiring and system specification
- electrical circuits or components for proper functioning
- Adjust sensitivity of units, based on room structure and manufactures’ recommendations to ensure optimal performance
- systems and equipment to identify and locate problems, such as loose connections or broken insulation etc.
- backup systems, programming, sirens and other security features to ensure proper functioning

System and Install Preparation
- Plan work procedures.
- Determine types of equipment, tools, or materials needed for jobs
- Consult with client, electrician and/or site supervisor as necessary.
- Drill holes for wiring in wall studs, joists, ceiling or floors; in parts, equipment or materials
- Inspect installation sites and study work orders, building plans and installation manuals to determine material requirement and installation procedures.

Prepare and process the required documents for job - invoices warranties, operational activities.

Able to explain the use of products or services and it may include system demonstration for customers, to assess risks and determine security requirements

Locksmith Technician - In addition to the above
- Install, service, and repair various types of mechanical locks and security devices, primarily at commercial and industrial sites.
- On site product sales and/or product upgrade recommendations to increase security.
- Re-key locks
- Disassemble locks; repair and or replace worn components.
- Cut new or duplicate keys and stamp with identification.
- Use appropriate discretion and special knowledge of lock systems to preserve the integrity of the master key system while meeting customer requests.
- Sales, Service and install most all door related hardware.
- Issue keys and maintain records of keys issued and returned.

**Requirements**:

- High School Graduation Diploma, with post-secondary education in Electronics is an asset.
- Previous experience in use of power tools, electronic testing equipment and reading and interpreting blueprint, submittals, and operation/product manuals. (e.g. grinders, drills, programmers, access control, multi-meters, wire testers) is preferred.
- Posses’ a mechanical aptitude.
- Communication skills that include reading, writing and interpretation.
- Mathematical skills such as add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to convert between Metric and Imperial measurements.
- Comfort in working at heights and on ladders or aerial lifts.
- Valid class G license | Driver’s abstract with no recent moving or driving violations.
