Kennel Assistant

Beds for Tails Kennels is a modern boarding facility for dogs and cats situated on three acres of gorgeous property located just ten minutes south of Ottawa. The spacious, climate-controlled indoor/outdoor private suites with adjoining runs, exercise yards and land for nature walks makes our guests stay a holiday of its own.

**Responsibilities**:

- Provide daily care and attention to animals in the kennel facility
- Feed and water animals according to their specific dietary needs
- Clean and sanitize kennels and common areas
- Monitor the health and well-being of animals, reporting any concerns to the supervisor
- Exercise and socialize animals, ensuring they receive proper mental and physical stimulation
- Administer medications or treatments as directed
- Assist with grooming tasks such as bathing, brushing, and nail trimming
- Maintain accurate records of animal care, including feeding schedules, medications, and behavior observations
- Interact with customers in a friendly and professional manner, providing client check in/check out support, providing information about services and answering questions

**Requirements**:

- Previous experience working with animals preferred
- Ability to handle and restrain animals of various sizes
- Knowledge of basic animal care practices and procedures
- Strong attention to detail and ability to follow instructions accurately
- Excellent customer service skills, with the ability to communicate effectively with pet owners
- Physical stamina for heavy lifting (up to 50 pounds) and standing for long periods of time
- Flexibility to work weekends, holidays, and occasional overtime as needed

**Job Types**: Full-time, Part-time, Permanent, Casual
Part-time hours: 20-30 per week

**Salary**: $16.55-$18.00 per hour
