Vancouver, Canada Russell Hendrix Foodservice Equipment Full time

Russell Hendrix Foodservice Equipment is looking to add a **Designer** experienced in commercial kitchen design to our Contracts team in **Vancouver**. You’ll be a pivotal part of the teams’ operations, trusted to sell, close, and design challenging and technical projects. This position requires initiative, drive to deliver on goals, high attention to detail, and the ability to manage internal and external relationships. This is an ideal position for a motivated individual who is passionate about creating profitable, innovative, operationally responsible, and client-driven design solutions in a high performance and collaborative environment.

**What You’ll Do**:

- Develop 2D Commercial Kitchen drawings to reflect project requirements and design criteria.
- Meet with prospective clients to assess needs and costs for design / projects.
- Collaborate with the Estimating and Project Management teams regarding fees associated with design, meeting deadlines, etc.
- Collaborate with co-workers and superiors to ensure exceptional quality of design and customer service.
- Prepare design drawings and recommend commercial kitchen equipment based on clients’ needs.
- Ensure design guidelines and construction specifications are respected during production of drawings.
- Ensure that building codes and standards are met.

**Desired Skills and Experience**:

- Extensive knowledge and at least 3 years of experience in Design and AutoCAD.
- Bachelor’s degree or Diploma in Institutional Management, Project Management, Interior Design, or a related field.
- You have experience and understanding of food service operations - processes, flow, efficiencies, and applicable codes.
- You have a general understanding of construction, as well as mechanical and electrical design.
- You have knowledge of restaurant licenses and permits involved in designing a commercial kitchen.
- You can efficiently manage and prioritize multiple projects simultaneously.
- You can be flexible in response to changing priorities and needs.
- You are goal oriented and commit to deliverables.
- Your verbal and written communication skills are excellent.
- You have a keen eye for detail, and deadline oriented.
- You are highly collaborative and team oriented.
- Comfortable with giving and receiving feedback.
