Our Ventsim software series is a leader in its field. We are located in Saint-Bruno-de-Montarville and offer the possibility of remote work with occasional on-site activities.

We are looking for a Hardware Technician (Controls Technician) to join our team.

What Needs To Be Done?

Main responsibilities:
As Hardware technician, you will contribute to the hardware projects by preparing the necessary list of materials for the hardware projects, managing the purchasing process, and doing small assemblies, testing and packaging under the supervision of the Hardware specialist.

You will help the automation expert on specific customer or R&D projects in aspects that his knowledge allows him to do: programming plcs or any other hardware, managing the inventory, etc. The automation expert will offer the necessary training depending on the profile and experience of the technician.

Accountabilities:
- Prepare all required documents and information at the beginning of a new project in accordance with internal requirements.- Prepare Purchase Orders for the projects under the supervision of the Automation expert and manage the deliveries and any necessary transportation of the hardware.- Tests the hardware before sending to the customer and prepare shipping- Help the Automation expert in specific projects with any task that he is able to help when his availability permits it

What Do You Need To Bring?

A degree in Technical Instrumentation and Control, Equivalent technical experience also considered;

Minimum of 2-3 years of experience in a similar position or experience in purchasing, programming or fabrication of instrumentation and control hardware

Bilingualism required, written and verbal communication in English and French; Spanish language would be an asset

Good knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word and Excel) and ERP/CRM system or other technology tools is important

Ability to communicate effectively and build relationships with team members;

Ability to multi-task and work in a priority-changing environment

Creating logic and flow diagrams for system commissioning, testing and start up is an asset

Specific knowledge & experience of PLC and Human interface programming is an asset

Knowledge & experience of working with automation networks is an asset

Physical implementation of monitoring and automation

Experience in the mining industry and/or with Schneider PLC

In this role, you will have occasionally to travel to customer sites and/or subcontractors facilities.
