Production Coordinator

Purpose of the role:
Responsible for scheduling and coordinating work flow within or between departments of the manufacturing plant to expedite production. Review of master production schedule and work orders to establish work priorities for specific customer orders and revise schedules according to work order specifications, availability or capability of parts, material, machines and equipment.
Key Accountabilities:
- Support the production of functional blends by ensuring inventory integrity through investigating and resolving inventory discrepancies and performing multiple transactions in Visual to include stock transfers
- Investigate discrepancies and initiate corrective actions
- Check and make corrections to process work order discrepancies
- Assist in the MRP process and provide back-up to the Production Manager
- Coordinate cycle counts, ensure location accuracy and inventory integrity
- Maintain inventory levels and coordinate shipments to outside warehouses
- Coordinate with Sales to create work orders for production
- Coordinate work order release to production and manage scheduling functionality in Visual
- Maintain manufacturing data accuracy and update as required
- Enter data into Visual for production and WIP
- Work with Engineering and Sales to improve upstream processes entered into Visual in order to create efficiencies
- Support the production crew in the overall Quality Management Program utilizing ISO 9001 processes
- Prepare and maintain production-related quality and traceability documentation to ensure compliance with client and ISO requirements
- Assist with troubleshooting production issues
- Work to improve production processes and eliminate waste and reduce costs
- Ensure training studies are performed and that production performance data is current and available for review and analysis
- Report on improvement initiatives and Rapid Improvement Plan outcomes
- Work to decrease lead times for materials in process
- Provide guidance on efficiencies and key metrics
Qualifications:
- High School Diploma or GED
- Demonstrated effective verbal and written communication skills
- Project Management and/or ERP Scheduler knowledge is preferred
- Having the Canadian Welding Bureau (CWB) - Level 1 Weld Inspector certification is an asset or be willing to complete this course within three months of hire is an asset

**Experience**:
- 3 years experience coordinating, prioritizing and assigning project workflow in a manufacturing or shop environment
- Experience with Visual and Microsoft Office (Word, Excel)
- Knowledge of computerized inventory management systems
Work Environment
- Primarily Office Environment (Secondary Manufacturing Facility and Project Sites)
- Occasional travel may be required
- Occasional exposure to loud noises
- Occasional exposure to extreme weather
- Fast paced with tight deadlines
- Regular work schedule based on 40 hour work week
- Work schedule may vary
- Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) must be worn as per company and client policies
**Salary**: From $75,000.00 per year
