**Salary**: $2,716.64 to $3,550.90 bi-weekly ($59,793 - $78,155/year)

**Role Responsibilities**:
Are you ready to make a meaningful impact on the delivery of fast, effective regulatory decision-making on Alberta’s Crown lands? As one of two Regulatory Approvals Specialists, you will arm our staff with the right guidance, tools, and training to excel in their roles. Beyond this, you'll play a pivotal role in Alberta's landscape, establishing efficient procedures that strike the right balance between economic progress, and social and environmental responsibility.

Reporting to the Director of Public Lands Disposition Management, you at the heart of a province-wide mission to implement a cohesive regulatory approvals program. Your responsibility spans the development, delivery, and support of operational guidance, empowering our front-line staff to seamlessly navigate the intricacies of regulatory approvals under the Public Lands Act. Collaborating with experts, managers, and policy makers, your leadership role will design, evaluate, and implement operational guidance for both internal and external audiences.

Additionally, you will foster strong connections with education specialists, statutory decision makers, and approvals coordinators. Serving as a bridge between departments, regulators and private, municipal and federal clients, you will analyze and recommend solutions for complex regulatory conflicts, develop new procedures that concretely deliver on high level regulatory and policy, support and offer training, and facilitate the review of innovative projects on Crown land. Your expertise will be crucial in enhancing staff efficiency, championing risk-appropriate procedures, and ensuring Alberta's natural resources remain sustainable for generations to come.

**Requirements**:

- A University graduation in a related field 4 years progressively responsible related experience.**Equivalency**:

- 1 year of education for 1 year of experience; or 1 year of experience for 1 year of education.**Assets**:

- Proficient in breaking down and conveying complex information clearly to provide audiences of varying backgrounds a sufficient, relevant understanding; fostering strong working relationships with program colleagues at all organizational levels across the division, partner and client ministries, and external clients.
- Extensive knowledge of the Public Lands Act and the Public Lands Administration Regulation; the Provincial Parks Act and the Provincial Parks (Dispositions) Regulation, with the ability to articulate this knowledge to the public and stakeholders.
- Also, working knowledge of legislation and regulation interacting with our regulatory scope, including other Public Lands Act regulations, the Environmental Protection and Enhancement Act, the Water Act, the Responsible Energy Development Act, and the Forests Act among others.ublic lands and administration act, with the ability to articulate this knowledge to the public and stakeholders.
- Familiarity with GOA Crown lands business systems, such as GLIMPS, ECSS, and CARS reporting mechanisms, including MS Office tools and GOA financial procedure. Basic GIS skills an asset.
- Sound understanding of Freedom of Information and Protection of Privacy legislation (FOIP), ensuring the confidential handling of sensitive data.
- Exceptional customer service skills to provide timely and accurate responses to internal and external inquiries, enhancing stakeholder satisfaction.

**Notes**:
Hours of Work: 36.25 hours of work per week, Monday to Friday in Edmonton.
