In this role, you will:
Support BASC by planning, communication, promotions and marketing initiatives. You will exercise strong decision making and judgement on a continual basis when working through situations that arise. Oversee schedules to reflect the needs of the children enrolled in the programs. This role will work closely with the BASCX Manager to implement strategies and systems to minimize risk to children and staff and increase parent, staff, and participant satisfaction. Providing staff with encouragement and recognition and support Supervisors in assessing conflict situations and exercise good judgment in recommending solutions.

You will be involved with scheduling staff as well ascreating, collecting, and ensuring sign in sheets are accurate; cross referencing and communicating with BASC Administrator regarding any changes to family accounts. Establishing relationships with families and ensure timely communication regarding parent concerns and questions are key.

You bring:

- Previous experience working with children/youth
- Positive attitude and teamwork in prior work/volunteer situations
- Demonstrated ability to work well both independently and in a team environment
- Well-developed interpersonal, and relationship building skills; ability to establish rapport and excellent communication with families, staff and volunteers
- Excellent communication skills
- Experience supervising staff and volunteers.
- Experience working with children with special needs, unique considerations or behavioral challenges an asset.
- Excellent verbal, written and communication skills
- Proven knowledge of and experience facilitating high quality recreational programs.
- Demonstrated ability to coach and motivate others.
- Strong administration skills

What you need to succeed:

- Commitment to the YMCA’s Mission, Vision and Values (Values Honesty, Respect, Caring, Fairness, Acceptance, Responsibility)
- Focus on the health, safety and wellbeing of all children, youth, and vulnerable people in YMCA programs including understanding legal and moral obligations related to reporting suspected child abuse to Child Protection Services
- Class 5 driver’s license and reliable transportation to travel between BASC programs.
- Current standard first aid and CPR-(C) certification.

**Job Type**: Permanent Full-time, 30-40 hours per week

**Salary**: From $16 per hour

Schedule:
Monday to Friday available until 6 pm.
