Kipling is currently looking for a Building Maintenance Technician to support a portfolio in Mississauga.

This is a full-time, live-out and permanent position.

The Building Maintenance Technician is important to the successful operation of a residential property and is responsible for the physical maintenance of the property(s) and surrounding property. The Building Maintenance Technician must have a service-oriented approach, excellent communication skills, and work flexible hours including month-end and on-call emergency requirements. A positive attitude within a learning environment is essential, and participation in company training and development workshops/seminars will be necessary for continued development.

**Responsibilities**

**Customer Service**:

- Professionally and courteously handle all inquiries, feedback, complaints or concerns. Ensure a high level of resident relations is maintained through regular contact and proactive attention to resident needs
- Maintain an overall focus on enhancing the customer experience
- Foster a strong customer service culture amongst all staff
- Promote a strong sense of community

- Meet and interact with residents and prospective residents in a courteous and professional manner
- Foster a strong customer service culture among all staff
- Respond to tenant inquiries and providing superior customer service;
- Welcome and assist all residents and visitors in the office;
**Maintenance and Administration**:

- Answer all incoming telephone calls in a courteous and professional manner;
- Liaise with building staff and contract staff to resolve resident maintenance issues as expeditiously as possible
- Responsible for building maintenance, repairs, property upkeep, preventative maintenance and corrective maintenance
- Responsible for Minor electrical, plumbing and mechanical repairs
- Assists with overseeing the interior and exterior maintenance and repairs, landscaping and painting, electrical and plumbing systems, windows, doors, elevators and floors.
- Establishes relationships with suppliers, vendors, contractors, and all others serving the community and company
- Responds to after-hours emergencies
- Completes other duties as assigned

**Requirements**:

- Minimum 3 years of direct property management experience
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Thorough knowledge and understanding of all building maintenance systems (pumps, emergency generators, HVAC, boilers, chillers, sprinklers etc.) and experience in related repairs
- Ability to complete minor suite renovations or upgrade work including painting, plumbing, electrical and general carpentry
- Ability to lift, push and pull heavy objects, including garbage bins, furniture and appliances
- Industry experience in commercial or residential property management required
