The County of Lambton is an urban-rural area in southwestern Ontario that is home to over 126,000 residents. The Corporation's seven divisions operate programs and services for the residents of Lambton County such as land ambulance, provincial offences court, three Long-Term Care Homes, 25 library branches, two museums, an art gallery, archives, local roadways, public health services, housing services, social services, building services and planning and development services. Position Overview
The Marketing and Communication Specialist plays an exciting and innovative role that is instrumental in the development, coordination, and delivery of marketing and communications initiatives that reach local, national, and global audiences. The objectives of the role are to market the local economy by raising awareness of our work, highlighting opportunities in the region, and attracting new investments and residents.
**Responsibilities**:
- Creative content development, integrated across multiple platforms, engagement, and distribution
- Increase our presence let the world know about the exciting things happening in Sarnia-Lambton
- Co-create, develop, and execute a marketing plan to align with our goals
- Lead various projects that include creating media releases and various communications documents, social media marketing and advertising
- Gathering and interpreting digital marketing data
- Updating website information
- Develop and manage a marketing budget that targets activities to attract new investments and residents, promotes a positive community image, and raises awareness of the organization
- Build strong relationships with community and industry stakeholders
**Qualifications**:
- Post-secondary Marketing, Business, Communications or Journalism diploma or degree;
- Three to five or more years of experience in marketing coordination, writing, editing and development of marketing materials and web content
- Experience working in a fast-paced marketing and results-oriented environment, with a solid understanding of marketing plans and implementation, advertising, and social media
- A great communicator with a creative flair
- A proactive ability to identify marketing opportunities and create engaging content for our targeted audiences
- Skilled at distributing content to effectively create awareness of our organization, our work and the community we serve.
- An ability to measure the tangible and intangible effects of various communications
- Demonstrated excellent interpersonal, customer service, and communication (oral and written) skills to interact effectively with team members, target audiences, and the public
- Proficient computer skills with a demonstrated knowledge of analytics and graphic design experience
- Website design knowledge with basic understanding of HTML
- Ability to work independently or as part of a team
- Demonstrated professionalism and ability to handle confidential and sensitive material
- A valid Ontario driver’s license and use of a vehicle.
