**Our Financial Services Department is seeking a Manager, Financial Systems & Processes who will manage the Financial Systems group in the support, development, and implementation of the organization’s financial systems.**

**You are: Analytical, collaborative, and innovative. You have strong communication skills, ability to think critically, ability to engage teams, and sound knowledge of financial processes and systems.**

**The Manager, Financial Systems & Processes reports to the Division Manager, Accounting Operations & Systems and falls within our Management / Leadership, Level 2 job family.**

**This role**:

- Manages the Financial Systems group, responsible for providing process and system support of primary finance systems and subsystems, including system design, configuration, testing, and implementation; ensures work is completed in accordance with established processes and standards.
- Assists the Division Manager with monitoring and controlling spending to ensure the effective and efficient expenditure of allocated funds within the approved budget. Contributes to budget preparation and planning process within the Division. Proposes strategies to effectively use resources and prepares business cases for improvements.
- Contributes to implementing new accounting standards or requirements and supports the Division Manager with the design, implementation and monitoring of internal policies and procedures.
- Assists with ensuring an effective internal control environment and continually monitors work activities for compliance with regulatory and legislative requirements.
- Coordinates the development and testing of financial reports, including the monthly and quarterly operating and capital reports, and support for the financial reports and data within the corporate Data Analytics tool; ensures the accuracy and integrity of reports.
- Plans and coordinates the preparation of monthly and annual financial reports and provides financial information to internal and external clients as required or requested. Contributes in the planning and coordinating the preparation of financial statements and the annual audit. Provides reports and data to the external auditors as requested. Ensures the ongoing integrity of the data recorded in financial systems and promptly investigates variances.
- Identifies financial process and system enhancement opportunities and evaluates solutions for new or changing operational requirements. With guidance from the Division Manager, implements new processes, procedures and systems as required. Participates in the development, upgrade and support of system software including the Finance; HR/Payroll; and the Enterprise Asset Management Systems.
- Plans and coordinates systems user training to meet organizational needs. Monitors, prioritizes and assigns tasks arising from system user tickets.
- Hires, supervises, directs, and develops staff, monitoring performance towards division, department, and corporate objectives. Ensures staff adhere to corporate workplace conduct and purchasing policies. Leads, coaches, and develops staff recognizing the importance of training.
- Participates in the planning and management of major initiatives such as the implementation of new public sector accounting standards or system upgrades and provides data and reports to inform senior staff. Investigates, provides suggestions, and recommends solutions in accordance with departmental goals and objectives.
- Coordinates efficient and effective financial processes, encourages employee involvement in decision making, and provides constructive and motivating feedback to staff.
- Performs other related duties as required.

**To be successful, you have**:

- 5 years of recent, related experience supplemented by a university degree in business administration, finance or commerce, or other relevant discipline; or an equivalent combination of training and experience.
- Professional Accounting Designation (CPA, CA, CGA or CMA) is required.
- Complete understanding and knowledge of the principles, practices, procedures, and systems applicable to finance, accounting, auditing, and related Financial Services systems and functions.
- Knowledge of the by-laws, regulations, statutes, policies and controls governing the operations of the Financial Services Department. Sound knowledge of the Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) for Public Sector Organizations.
- Demonstrated ability to analyze, test, develop, and implement computerized financial systems using a complex ERP solution such as Unit 4 Business World and PeopleSoft.
- Demonstrated ability to meet deadlines, achieve objectives, and manage multiple tasks and projects simultaneously.
