**Position Synopsis**
The Animation Asset Manager (AAM) is responsible for the collection, organization, and distribution of assets for multiple simultaneous 2D, 3D, and development productions. They play an integral role on complex animation projects.

They will work hand in hand with clients, creatives, and production staff to make sure the latest versions of every incoming and outgoing asset are correctly labelled, tracked, and accounted for.

The AAM will report directly to the Animation Production Manager.

**Role Description**
**_Fluency in the Animation and Development Pipelines_**
The AAM has experience with the full scope of animation and software development pipelines, with an understanding of the language used within each department. The AAM should also have experience in handling the import, conversion, and export of all animation and development digital assets.

They will work closely with our 2D and 3D creative teams, dev team, production teams, vendors, and clients to maintain and organize all relevant assets and file structures.

During production they keep themselves, our teams, and the project on track by providing oversight, guidance, and technical solutions for all asset related operations. They will also compile, organize and manage project specific file archives and a general reuse asset folder for future projects.

**_Champion of Organization_**
The AAM can manage overlapping workstreams, mass uploads, and impending deadlines - all with a calm and level head.

They have experience working closely with creative teams to implement structure and organization to their workflow. They are comfortable managing and organizing a variety of media formats and file types. They have a solid understanding of file management and organizational software as well as a general understanding of the software and tools used by the creative teams.

With the guidance of the Animation Production Manager, Animation Lead, and the Head of Software Development, they should generate Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) for best practices on the file naming and organization of each production they oversee.

They are a team-oriented and sensitive communicator who works to bolster the talents of those around them and make sure they have the tools they need to succeed. The AAM holds teammates accountable to best practices of versioning and file management and supports a streamlined workflow.

**Key Responsibilities**
- Manages assets across multiple productions.
- Evaluates and creates workflows and file structures for the efficient and expedient routing of assets.
- Effectively generates and updates SOP's within the Animation Department under the guidance of the Animation Production Manager and the Head of Project Coordinators.
- Works closely with production teams, contractors, vendors, and clients to maintain workflow and asset integrity.
- Tracks and documents the status, progress, and versioning of assets through each stage of pre, mid, and post production.
- Builds and manages a file archive for past, current, and future projects.
- Generates and maintains a reuse asset library for ease of use in future projects.
- Uses various software to edit, create, conform, and convert assets to meet production and distribution specifications.

**Required Experiences and Skills**
- End to end experience with a 2D, 3D, or game dev pipeline
- Minimum 2+ years of asset management experience in the Game, Animation, or Entertainment industry.
- Understanding of digital asset management software i.e. ShotGrid, Frame.IO, Google Suite, Bynder, etc.
- Proficient use of various delivery and storage software and technology i.e. Dropbox, Google Drive, FileZilla (or similar FTP service), and similar.
- Experience in managing and handling various file types for animation software i.e. Maya, Cinema 4D, Adobe Suite, and technical export/import requirements for Unreal, Unity, and Web platforms.
- Ability to communicate and interact professionally with culturally diverse clients, providers, and staff.
- Strong organizational and time-management skills.
- Able to proactively recognize challenges, flag them, and provide solutions.
